Certified instructor description: Fast-paced and easy to follow — six distinct Latin dances with very high-energy Latin vocal/instrumental music. Never intimidating, Giselle Roque de Escobar’s genuine enthusiasm makes fat burning fun. Each segment begins with that specific dance’s unique rhythms and steps. Then it adds arm patterns, directional changes, hip shakes… and attitude (building and repeating until you’re just naturally moving with the music). Every dance has its own special appeal. Basic Salsa gets you started while Mambo, Merengue and Advanced Salsa interweave arms, pivots and cross steps. You’ll finish with playful, bouncy Samba and fluid Afro-Cuban moves. Also has a bonus 7-minute body bar toning workout. ©2006. DVD has: Chapter menus, Narrow screen.

Fiesta Fitness Dance with Giselle

Giselle is Wonderful!
I really enjoy Giselle. She is easy to follow but challenging enough that I don't get bored. She is very upbeat. I look forward to doing her DVD and would buy more of them. - posted by Ann-Marie on 1/5/2012

Fiesta Fitness Dance with Giselle
I did not feel this was a strong workout. Nice for teaching various steps but not very intense as far as a workout goes. - posted by Pam on 4/3/2011
I wanted to like this...
I agree with Barbara V's review. So-so music. Awkward combinations that didn't flow well. Poor camera angles. Inconsistent cueing. I especially agree with her comment: "...the choreography didn't make you feel good." There are better dance workouts. I rated this workout three stars because there were several things I DID enjoy and appreciate. First of all, Giselle is a warm and enthusiastic instructor. Her background exercisers are clearly talented and a pleasure to watch. I also really liked that Giselle does not slow down to teach the moves at half tempo. If you plan to do a routine multiple times, that slow pace will become awfully boring and an annoyance over time. - posted by Martha on 10/9/2009
Loved the latin workout and music!
Great routines and very well cued. Giselle has an energy that makes you want to workout. Loved this DVD! - posted by Maria on 12/1/2008
Fun dance routine
I have done the workout about 3 times now. I really enjoyed it and keep looking forward to the next time. I actually liked it better than the 'crunch' DVD with Giselle. I think the choreography flows quite nicely on this one and is easy enough to pick up quite quickly.(Then you can really dance it and bring your heart rate up a little more). I really didn't notice any annoying camera angles, but be prepared to maybe go through it a few times first if you are new to dance workouts, otherwise it's really easy to follow. Some of the cuing could be better, but once again not a big problem . An absolute winner with me... - posted by Barbara on 12/11/2007
Its okay
Some of the dance moves were fun. But some of the music was really boring and the girl in the background was so annoying to watch. She looked like she kept trying too hard to look good. The other 2 dvds are much better. - posted by Miriam on 10/23/2007
Not much of a fiesta
I didn't care for this DVD for many of the same reasons the other reviewers mentioned - the production quality was poor, the moves were not well cued, and the camera didn't show the feet when it was time to learn a new move. But most of all, I felt so awkward doing the routine. I've done tons of dance workouts before and I am generally very quick to pick up the routines. But there were kind of strange variations on the basic latin moves in this one. And even when you did "get' the moves, they didn't flow well and the choreography didn't make you feel good - just clumsy and frustrated. I have enjoyed some of Giselle's other workouts, so I will give her a break and give any future workouts a try :) - posted by Barbara V on 5/24/2007

LOVED IT!!!
I really liked the routines, the music and energy in this DVD...especially the Merengue Routine as it was fast paced, well choreographed with lots of energy! Giselle and the two background dancers really move well and make it easy for one to get the routine and follow. Highly recommend this one! - posted by Janine on 1/22/2007
Not For Me
I very much agree with the previous reviewer who said that the Crunch video was better. I'm not generally choreographicallly challenged in dance videos, but the cuing was poor even on the warm-up. Not being exactly on step doesn't bother me, but not feeling worked out does. The crunch tape is shorter but somehow more of a push aerobicallly. This tape actually made me feel self-conscious: an idiotic home exerciser while doing it! Normally the outfits aren't something I notice, but yellow is not a good color for Giselle, and it kind of got on my nerves. - posted by Kari on 12/23/2006

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
