Time graph for Fit Mama with Leisa Hart
Surprisingly easy-to-follow Salsa aerobics followed by yoga-inspired toning. Every move is carefully designed for pregnancy. Featuring energizing Latin music, the cardio is super-fun but not at all complicated. And the toning is explicitly focused on minimizing pregnancy discomfort (e.g. specific ab and low back exercises to avoid sway back). Leisa Hart, in her third trimester, leads the workout, but the class also includes first and second-trimester women (so you can follow the group that best matches your level). Follows American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists guidelines. ©2002. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Fit Mama with Leisa Hart

Excellent!
Fitmama is excellent, the moves are not complicated, they kept me motivated during my pregnancy, and helped me stay focused on what is important, my new baby. I really enjoyed Leisa Hart's style, she was fun, and the background talent represented each stage of prego mommas, i loved being a "FITMAMA"!!!! - posted by Cindi Molley on 7/6/2008
best prenatal video
FITMAMA is by far the best fitness prenatal dvd i have ever used. i absolutley loved the routines and loved the instruction by LEISA HART, she was outstanding. This is a great gift for any mommy to be. - posted by Kelly on 5/28/2008
Wonderful
This is a great work out for anyone who's pregnant. The salsa dance is fun, and gets your heart rate up. The yoga has worked great, and I have even seen some definition come back to my legs! I would recomend this video to anyone! - posted by Shannon on 3/6/2008
Great pregnancy workout!
It took me a while to start exercising again after a rough first trimester. Leisa's tape has been wonderful as I enter my second trimester. I love her salsa cardio, although I wish she wouldn't repeat the mambp/chacha quite so much but it really gets you moving. The yoga section is excellent- it stretches all those tight muscles and works on breathing. I use this in conjunction with Denise Austin's tape- these two make a great combo! - posted by Meredith on 12/9/2007
excellent
Fitmama is an excellent dvd, the salsa dance was easy to learn and not overwhelming for my prego mind. the toning and labor moves were very good, it really helped me deliver my first baby with ease. leisa hart is an outstanding teacher, i loved her style. - posted by Nora on 7/19/2007
best prenatal workout
Having had 5 babies, i consider myself a so-called expert on pre and post natal workout videos since i have bought almost 20 of them. I have used FITMAMA for my last two babies almost exclusively as i find Leisa Hart to be an absolutely excellent instructor and i thoroughly enjoy her routines. They are not repetitive or boring, they are adjusted for a pregnant woman. i do not need to keep up my regular routines when i am prego, and so i find the FITMAMA workouts to be exactly what i need, and what i like, salsa dancing that is fun and yoga toning that does not put me to sleep. FITMAMA is by far the best prenatal fitness dvd, and is well worth it. Fitmama Postnatal is also very good, a great pick me up so i can get ready to start jogging and heading to the gym, i thoroughly LOVE Leisa Hart and her FITMAMA dvds. - posted by Katherine on 7/7/2007

Repetitive, but a good workout
For my first pregnancy I didn't use this much. Leisa Hart is a little annoying, and this workout is EXTREMELY repetitive. However, for this pregnancy I'm overlooking those qualities and finding that a) Leisa is a very clear instructor, b) it's one of the better workouts out there that's specialized for pregnancy. I think I get a good workout with this, without ending up too exhausted. For the experienced exerciser it's a little on the easy side, but I still recommend it since it's just for pregnancy and you feel toned and energized afterwards, without tiring yourself out. Leisa is very clear. Bonus segments on stretches (for when you start getting muscle cramps) and L&D preparation. Final warning: the repetitiveness might drive you crazy, especially if you are used to more complicated combos from people like Cathe Friedrich. - posted by Brigitte on 1/22/2007
great video
I used this all through my pregnancy with my Son. It was fun and a great stretch workout. - posted by tara on 12/18/2006
I love this tape
I love this DVD--it's fun, safe, and perfectly paced for my pregnant self. I'm 35 and pregnant with my first (13 wks). Before I got pregnant, I worked out 4-5 times a week doing step and weights and pilates, but pregnancy has really forced me to tone down my workouts a bit. Leisa comes across as very caring and is quite upbeat without being annoying. The moves are basic but perfectly choreographed for pregnancy. I do all the sections together and I always feel relaxed and energized when I finish. - posted by SaraP on 9/27/2006
best prenatal video of all time
i have used over 100 fitness videos the past 12 years, and after having 4 babies and using about 20 different prenatal videos, Leisa Hart's FITMAMA is in my opinion the BEST prenatal program on video. I loved the salsa dance, it is just what i needed throughout all three trimesters, the yoga was a great tone and stretch and leisa gave some great tips that other instructors fail to do or don't do with much conviction. I was very impressed with the energy and focus i acheived while using Fitmama; i think any one who is pregnant would benefit from this dvd, it is simply the best! - posted by Megan on 9/4/2006

Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
