Certified instructor description: Dance, martial arts, fitness and yoga movements blended with positive affirmations (e.g. “I’m feeling strong and energized”). You’ll use the power of your mind to help strengthen your body. The actual moves are straight-forward and easy to follow. Gracefully building in intensity, they range from dancer-style pliés to martial arts kicks to athletic jogs and lunges. But it’s the mind-body emphasis that makes this program unique. Patricia Moreno’s passionate intensity infuses every movement with an energy and purpose (e.g. a stretched out hand means “desire” — the desire to be powerful). It ends with an equally mind-body-focused yoga stretch. ©2006. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Inten-Sati: Intention & Power

Different, good
Really enjoyed this. It is an active yoga practice that will get you going with power yoga postures. Patricia, who is a very nice and motivating instructor, and the others chant affirmations, a useful reminder of the power of positive living. I gave it 4 stars because I wish it was just a little longer. Good DVD menu too. - posted by Isabel on 7/3/2011
Great Benefits but not that intense
I loved the mind body connection work the instructor does here. I truly felt nourished by doing this video. However, I would not do this more than once a week, maybe when I am sore or tired, as it would not maintain or increase my fitness level. If you are looking for a spiritual lift, or just a feel-good session, or need to take it easy a bit, then this is perfect. - posted by Melissa on 4/29/2011
I Love This Workout!
I hope Ms. Moreno makes ten more IntenSati workouts. I've been doing The Firm for years, and didn't think I could get a good workout without the weights. Wrong! As for the affirmations, they're much closer to positive psychology. I love Intensati. - posted by Nancy on 4/7/2011
IntenSati Intention and Power
I absolutely LOVE this video. It is challenging, fun and inspirational. No stress on the knees, no pounding and no painful floor exercises. Patricia delivers a powerful demonstration. I thoroughly enjoy it. I am so grateful to have discovered this through the Dr.Oz show. - posted by Lyse on 2/22/2011
Great mix of yoga, cardio and motivation
I'm not particularly a spiritual person but I do believe in the benefits of yoga and mind/body exercise. I love the combination on this DVD and I find the chanting actually very motivational. I also sweat way more than I thought I would and my arms felt a little weak afterward. There is also some really good balance work. You don't have to believe in anything like The Secret (I don't) but a positive outlook is more healthy and I do feel good after doing this workout. - posted by Vanessa on 11/21/2010
Meditative cardio and strength. Awesome!
Cannot wait for more workouts like this to be produced. Unique and motivational. It is like yoga postures in constant motion while chanting affirmations. Very low impact and easy to learn moves. By the third time I did this video, I had a good grasp on the exercises and felt lovely and graceful and strong while working out. - posted by Patti on 11/4/2010
Inspirational
This is my second fitness video taught by Patricia Moreno. I find her to be a very motivating instructor. This video is so unique, combining affirmations with aerobic exercise. I really enjoyed the format and found it to be very inspirational. I truly loved doing this video. - posted by Susan on 9/16/2010
Different and uplifting
I have recently been reading about The Law of Attraction and watched the movie The Secret by Rhonda Bryne. That information is what interested me in this video. I understand why Patricia Moreno is talking about your choice to focus on getting stronger or focus on all the negative like I am tired and I can't keep going. It is amazing when you start telling yourself you can and you do feel stronger, you actually will. The music is nice and more relaxing than most videos. I find myself saying the affirmations during the day and it makes me feel mentally and physically good. I like that the routines are easy to follow, but strenuous, so I can concentrate on the affirmations. Overall I really like it and use it more than several of the other videos I have. - posted by Mel on 4/2/2010
Not for me at all
I do yoga, I meditate, I love the Tai Chi aspects of Petra Kolber's BREATHE workout, I think Patricia Moreno is great in her Cardio Core Kick Boxing DVD, but I couldn't cope with this workout. I was hoping that the chants and affirmations would be more in line with the things she says in the kick boxing DVD, because that is really nice. But the Inten-Sati chants and presentation were way over the top for me. The other people in the video wildly chanting away as they worked out sort of freaked me out. It was impossible for me to ignore it. I also wasn't especially fond of the workout. It just wasn't wasn't my style. - posted by jaygee on 3/21/2010
Awesome!
I took her class in person and it was awesome and inspiring. I want her arms!! Patricia was warm, friendly and motivating. I liked the video as well as her class. - posted by Teresa on 12/17/2009

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
