Certified instructor description: Separate upper and lower-body workouts plus a soothing relaxation segment. Both toning programs focus on strength, balance, flexibility and bone health. Many of these moves also emphasize "functional fitness" — exercises designed to make everyday activities easier and safer. Each workout begins with simple stretch and flexibility movements (e.g. "wrist rolls" to minimize arthritis discomfort). That's followed by a varied mix of classic and seniors-specific toning exercises (e.g. from traditional squats and overhead presses to seated bicep curls and modified push-ups). The ending segment is pure bliss — lying-on-your-back guided relaxation ("feel the tension leaving your legs"). ©2011. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen, Close captions, Region 1.

Jane Fonda's Prime Time Trim Tone & Flex

Fun and challenging
I just bought both of Jane's 2 new DVDs, Firm and Burn, and Trim, Tone & Flex and I am thrilled with them. I have exercised regularly for many years, and began in the 'early days' as she says with her original Workout video. Now, at 65, with sore knees, I need something more fitting my level. This is challenging yet very doable, and best of all, interesting and fun. - posted by Carol on 5/18/2012
Enjoying your exercise
I love the exercise programs with Jane Fonda mainly because of the pleasant, natural, enjoyable way that she talks to you, discusses each exercise with you and describes why that particular exercise is important for you, what it does to your body and how it helps you to enjoy life at an older age. It makes the morning exercise a most enjoyable activity for starting a new day. - posted by Ernst on 5/17/2012
Love It!!!
I'd Exercised W/Jane In The Past When She First Started Way Before DVD's :-). I'm 66 Now & Her New Exercise DVDs Are Just My Style & Speed. I Have All Four. I Also Have Leslie Sansone's Walk Off Weight Ultimate Collection & Peggy Cappy's Yoga For Arthritis. It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This. All These, Along W/Vitamins/Supplements Have Greatly Reduced My Arthritis & Lowered My Blood Pressure :-). - posted by Patricia on 5/3/2012
Coming back
I started with Jane Fonda 30 years ago when I was 16, I am now 46 and have begun a complete overhaul of my body with a new eating plan and have, of course, returned to the queen of workout and it's the only one I have ever enjoyed and I'm actually sticking to it. Loving the new healthy feeling and looking forward to enjoying getting older..... Thanks Jane, you're one amazing lady - posted by Anna on 4/22/2012

Works for me
What can I say? I've been a Fonda Fan for years, have video cassettes that I wore out in my 40's. Now that I'm in my 60's and have let things slide, this DVD is a perfect way for me to get back to being fit. Jane's a great instructor, love her down-to earth presence and her motivating encouragement. And she looks amazing, too! - posted by Linda on 4/19/2012
OK FOR AN EASY DAY
A little backstory..I started exercising with Jane exactly 30 and one half years ago, 6 months after my youngest daughter was born. I couldn't drop the baby weight, and my neighbor asked me if I wanted to work out with her to a Jane Fonda workout video. She had just bought a VCR. A WHAT?? Well, long story short, I worked out, lost weight, and the rest is history. I am now turning 60 in 4 days, and still an exercise fanatic. As a matter of fact, I have been teaching for the last 10 years. Enough about me. I just had to buy these dvds, (I also bought the cardio version) as Jane is just such a part of my history. I enjoyed this, although is is quite easy for me. I am still doing challenging workouts for my age, so this will be done on a day when I am not quite so motivated. It is certainly effective, I like the moves she does, and it is age appropriate for the most part. I definitely recommend this..and how great does Jane look???? Where have the last 30 years gone, Jane? Thanks for all you have done for me! - posted by Barbara on 4/11/2012
Just right for me!
Most of my adult life I have been a regular exerciser. Now 63 years old, I have worked the past ten years at jobs that keep me seated at a computer all day. And I let my exercising lapse except for a (mostly) daily walk. The result: 40 extra pounds, and I just couldn't keep up the exercise videos I used to use. Well, Jane Fonda has changed all that! I bought all three of her new videos and she has me back in the exercise groove again! They are just the right pace - not so slow and easy that it feels like I am wasting my time, and not so long, fast, and challenging that I use the DVD once and no more. Jane has hit it just exactly right. Her gentle and personal understanding of the aging process and her genuine enthusiasm have helped me re-establish a healthy exercise routine. Heartfelt thanks to you, Jane! - posted by Barbara on 3/29/2012

Fonda is still doing a good job
I have been a Jane Fonda exercise video user for many years (even back to the old "no pain-no gain" years). Fonda has set the tone of this video to accommodate us older enthusiasts, who want to stay fit without trying to do the things we did at 20 and 30. I hope Jane Fonda continues to show us how she is aging and staying fit and that we can, too. - posted by Janet on 2/2/2012

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
