Jazzercise: Ballet Body |
    good ballet work |
| I like doing this one. It's a good way to get a shorter routine than my other ballet workouts. I'm a fan of Jazzercise, and was not disappointed in this. - posted by Sue on 5/9/2012 |

Very good video for trouble spots! |
| Great video for those of us who can't do the jumping so common on some exercise videos. Two shortened segments that really work the arms/legs for when you don't have a full 30-60 minutes. Very enjoyable video! It's a keeper. - posted by Sherry on 3/3/2012 |

Ballet toning, fitness club feel |
| I rate this one somewhere between 3 and 4 stars.....Things I liked about this workout: the floor barre/inner thigh chapter (I love any leg work that I can do laying down!), the ab chapter (I liked starting with standing abs and moving into floor moves in a V-sit position), the unweighted arms segment which BURNED (wished it was longer!), the variety of workout options, the modifications shown for different levels. What I wished were different: some of the segments do feel a bit repetitive, the quick pace of some of the moves that made it difficult to maintain form (especially during the "foot articulation" portion...but I have pretty inflexible ankles, so maybe that's just my issue). Overall, I liked the set, the music was fine (what I expected from a "fitness club" ballet workout -- driving beat with occasional jazzy lyrics). I also really liked all of the 1-legged moves which really made me focus on my balance and form. I don't think the upper body was sufficient (for me) to consider this total body, however, it's pretty on par with the upper body segments of other barre/ballet workouts (which tend to scrimp in that area). - posted by Alison on 2/9/2012 |

GREAT WORKOUT!! So Many Variations! |
| I love this Ballet DVD. It is clearly instructed, high energy, and has great transitions from each exercise to the next. They feature 3 instructors that do a variety of movements, ranging from beginner level to expert. They have GREAT ab workouts, and your arms/delts will be burnin' by the end! The music is great, much better than some boring classical stuff that they use in an actual Ballet class.. And to clarify the description, its a FULL BODY workout, not just lower body. And again, even experts can find this challenging, as it features really intense variations of the workouts. - posted by Katlynn on 2/1/2012 |

Good ideas, could be executed better |
| If I do this one again, I'm going to try modifying it to make it work better. Like someone else here, I thought many of the moves were done at too fast a pace to keep good form, and I often found myself flinging my legs around rather than keeping good muscle control. Usually, after a strong dance workout I feel tired but invigorated. After this one, I just felt tired and disgruntled. It's not that the selection of steps is bad; it's just that they accelerate too much and go on too long at the over-rapid pace. Also, the segments don't transition smoothly, so the whole set feels disjointed no matter how I sequence them. As I said, I may try again, using the steps but not accelerating them, and maybe figuring out some transitioning steps. There are some good ideas in this workout; they just need to be executed better. - posted by Phoebe on 1/21/2012 |

    absolutely a keeper!!! |
| This is my second Jazzercise DVD. Great workout of the lower body and core. Three modifications so you adjust for that day's energy level or current fitness level. Excellent cueing. Music/workout to tempo. The movements are physical and elegant - you get a great workout and it doesn't feel like your typical workout..you don't have to be a ballet dancer to do the moves.... great workout for any time of the day (I do my workouts mid-afternoon to cure those afternoon slumps). Love it!! Highly recommend it!! - posted by Cathrine on 1/19/2012 |

    Just Okay |
| I actually liked the music a lot, and thought that the pace of the workout fit the beat of the music. Jazzercise uses pop and rock in their workouts, so I wouldn't expect softer, classical music (although this DVD didn't use "hard rock"). As for the workout, it was only so-so. I only liked the second instructor (the one on the cover of the DVD). I think that I would have liked this a lot more if she'd taught the entire thing. The first instructor kept using ballet lingo incorrectly, which is both annoying and confusing for those of us who know the right words. The 3rd instructor had an obnoxious voice. In the end, I thought this was fairly boring, and way too much repetition. Even the warm-up had too much repeating of the same move. - posted by Jamie on 1/11/2012 |

    The Music is awful! |
| My Gosh....This is a jazzercise DVD workout...and they have hard rock music or some other type of music that just doesn't fit the workout...The music was so distracting to me that I did not even finish the workout. Too bad because the workout is good...However, the music should have been a bit more low key and fit this workout...Not keeping this one! - posted by Silvia on 12/30/2011 |

Not a bad workout but.... |
| The workout was OK and I was sore after I finish...However, I don't see myself doing this workout too often....The MUSIC WAS TERRIBLE...It was so loud at times that it overpowered the instructor's instructions....Not crazy about it and will return it... - posted by Lola on 12/29/2011 |

    Not a good workout |
| The movement was so fast that I lost the proper form. Without the correct body formation, it could cause injury and the benefit of the movement will not be effective. This is not a good choice. - posted by Divina on 12/29/2011 |
