makes you sweat!
This is a great video! Definitely makes you sweat! Jeanette is motivating & cues really well. The cardio portion is only 28 minutes long, but it does an awesome job of working your body with a lot of intensity in a short period of time. She keeps her entire Dvd workout very fun & interesting with the wide variety of moves she does. I look forward to buying more Dvds by Jeanette in the future! - posted by robyn on 2/9/2012
A Keeper!
This workout works the whole body and is fun and challenging. You get an adequate amount of cardio and enough weights using compound moves to make it worthwhile. The number of reps is good enough to feel the muscles burn. This is my first Jeanette Jenkins DVD and I'm very happy with her workout. - posted by Linda on 1/5/2012
Heart Pumper!
This workout starts you moving right at the start - from warm up to cool down you are working your body. The only thing that bugs me is that the blond exerciser in the video has a constant "fake" smile...a little weird. Love Jeannette's instruction and disposition, she doesn't yell at you, or continue to count EVERY SINGLE REP! She is encouraging and doing the workout right with you. she's not kiddy, this one's tough
I'm a regular, advanced exerciser. This video is very difficult. I have done it all, but not all at once. I did the cardio one day, then the strength, then the abs I love it and use it a lot, but I do so in rotation with other great Collage videos in my library. This workout is great! It is split up into cardio and toning, so you can do the entire workout, or break it up into segments. It is challenging, but not so much that it's impossible. I like that the instructor actually does the workout with you. The warm up isn't as long as it could be, so those with tight hamstrings might need to stretch extra before starting the cardio portion. A favorite!!
This DVD is one of the harder workouts that I own. I do the cardio section one day and the sculpting plus abs section the next. I love that is has two workouts that both really work but don't take too much time. Although you of course could make one long workout out of it, I just haven't yet...I would have to be really motivated! The cardio section gets my heartrate soaring for the whole 30ish minutes. My other DVDs have more interval training type cardio, but it's nice to do flat-out, non-stop sometimes. The toning section is fast enough that I find it quite aerobic as well. It's so tough I can only use 5lb weights! The abs section is hard, I usually have to modify to get through it. And the stretch at the end is lovely and a little longer than most, which feels really good. Jeanette is fun and motivating, she and the backup exercisers are incredibly fit and inspiring! - posted by Soledad on 8/12/2011

Reading a Time Graph

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Level

Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact

Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography

Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Floor aerobics & toning

Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
