Certified instructor description: Truly a fusion — modern dance blended with strength exercises and yoga blended with flexibility routines. Jillian is a supportive and genuine instructor who just wants you to succeed (her overall attitude is “laid back” and accepting). She begins with a dance-style warmup. That’s followed by dumbbell arm toning and lots of lower-body squats and lunges (using a chair to facilitate full range-of-motion movements). It ends with Pilates-based floorwork that targets your abs and legs. In addition, you also get relaxing between-move stretches and even some joint flexibility exercises. Requires 1 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2009. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Jillian Hessel's HomeBody Workout

Relaxing and Restorative
Everyone needs a few dvds that are calming yet energizing. This is a good one to do when nerves are frayed and you just need to move and stretch . I liked the music. It would have been even better had Jillian worked out alone, rather than with a student. - posted by Alice on 9/9/2010
Nice Light workout
I liked this workout. I have only done it one time but I thought it was a good workout for a light day or recovery day or a day that you really don't feel like working out, which is the day I had yesterday! I popped this in and it was kind of interesting and fun. I liked the hand and wrist work, the music was nice and the instructor was pleasant. It was easy to follow. All in all it was enjoyable and I will use this workout on those light days or days I can't get in to doing much else. It's not a real sweat breaker, major cardio or toning workout but it was enjoyable and I felt better after completing the workout. It gets you moving and there is some nice ab work included. - posted by Tammy on 7/18/2010
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
