Time graph for Kari Anderson's Shake: Workout for Kids
A true fitness-style workout created for 6 to 11-year-olds. It’s designed to increase confidence, coordination and energy. Everyone is having lots of fun, but this is a “real” class — Kari uses moves that are fluid, kid-friendly and easy to follow. She teaches eight complete combos, each one a mix of high-energy upper and lower-body movements. The exercises range from stomps and kicks to pivot turns and twists (all with cute names like “macaroni” and “stir it up”). The workout ends with a faster-paced “challenge song” — featuring all eight combos in a non-stop dance sequence. ©2005.

Kari Anderson's Shake: Workout for Kids

So much Fun!!
I will for sure add this to my family collection. I tried this DVD with my daughter (7). I think I had more fun than she did. It reminded me of when I was a kid, its a great workout and my daughter had fun too. - posted by Kim on 9/22/2007

Lots of FUN!
I'm in my 50's and was looking for an everyday aerobic workout when I purchased SHAKE. I love it!... the cute kids, the spaceous not-tacky set, the music! It's easy to make it lower impact and still sweat. Thank you Collage and Kari! - posted by June Thorne on 4/20/2007
Very Good
This video is very motivating for my daughter. She loves it and wants to do it everyday. She is six years old. My son even liked it to who is nine. And its not very long which is nice. - posted by Michelle on 12/18/2006
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Specialty: Kids
X
Workouts especially designed to get your children moving. They range from true "workouts" to playful games and just-plain-fun activities.
