Certified instructor description: A true "dance aerobics" workout -- these classic moves are graceful, fluid and rhythmic ("just follow the beat"). Kari keeps you motivated with easy-to-follow patterns and exquisite transitions (subtle progressions that gently flow from one sequence to the next). You get 11 different songs, each with its own routine (you'll do a sequence and then move on to something entirely new -- no repetitive "take it from the top"). The exercises range from simple grapevines and cross-overs to bouncy hops and "Flashdance fast feet". Kari is an excellent instructor; she trained as a dancer so she moves and cues like a dancer. Note: Lots of pivots and turns, not recommended for carpet. ©2011. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Kari Anderson's Sweat Express II

High Energy dance
this video was better than i expected...excellent cardio...the steps are basic with a new spin...and translate very well with my water aerobics program..... the instructor demonstrates in a fashion that is intricate but uses tag ons to expand the program i recommend it as good as jazzercise - posted by Lenora on 3/22/2012
Awesome
I love Kari. She is very professional. - posted by Aneera on 3/22/2012
Don't judge until you've done it at least 5X...
...because it took me that many times for the routines on this DVD to finally kick in and make sense and then...FUN!!! I'm not a dancer thus I gravitate more towards interval workouts but wanted to change it up a bit. Now that I finally can do the steps and feel the music, I really like this workout. Frustrating at first but so are ALL new things, right? Felt this was more about strengthening the core and less cardio. A good addition to my 2 times a week interval training and 3 times a week yogilates schedule. You do have to watch your knees when doing the numerous turns on carpet. Three stars because to enjoy this workout you have to have patience with learning the various steps. - posted by Stacie on 2/9/2012
Fun and Energizing
I like dance aerobics, and this workout is fun dance aerobics. The choreography isn't too complicated; I feel like I'm doing a dance workout, not like I'm in a dance class, and most of the moves I can do easily on carpeting. It's not the sweatiest workout on the block, but I did get my heart-rate up and I did sweat. I felt energized afterwards not exhausted. I think it's a lot of fun. I will definitely be putting this in my video rotation. - posted by Jenny on 1/19/2012
Just ok
This is my least favorite Kari Anderson workout. Except for two segments near the end, the tape was kind of boring. I kept waiting for it to end, thinking "when will this be over" and I've never before felt that way about a Kari workout. It seemed choppy, too, and I didn't feel worked out when it was finally over. I really like Kari so I'm sorry to say this about this workout. - posted by Anne on 1/10/2012
It may be "fun," but I need exercise
I barely even break a sweat with this one. I usually do advanced or intermediate/advanced workouts but occasionally enjoy an intermediate level workout when I really just don't feel like doing anything. This one isn't even that though, it's more beginner level, exertion-wise. - posted by Marianne on 1/9/2012
Fun
This video is FUN. I'm out of shape and wanted a moderately challenging workout to get myself moving again. This one fit the bill perfectly with the added bonus that it's fun to do in spite of having two left feet. Kari is funny, creative, easy to follow, and has a very pleasant voice. I plan to get more of her videos. - posted by Nadine on 12/31/2011
Great Workout!
This is a pretty challenging video, especially for a senior. But there are always options for less impact. There are several fast paced sections, and that's challenging too. Overall, a great workout, especially if you do the whole video. Kari is a great instructor. - posted by Suzanne on 12/8/2011
So much fun!!
This is not a super hard work out, but for lighter days, when I can't muster the motivation to exhaust myself, this is my go to video. It is a BLAST!!! I love the music, I love how non repetitive the dances are, I love Kari...when the 50 minutes are over I want to restart the DVD and do it all again! So much fun!! - posted by KC on 12/7/2011
Fun! Fun! Fun!
This is one of my new favorites! I really enjoyed this workout. Dancey, easy to follow and a great workout too! - posted by Lisa on 12/6/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
