Certified instructor description: A creative blend of power yoga and dumbbell weight training. It’s a time-efficient mix that improves balance, increases flexibility and sculpts your entire body. Kristin uses all the classic yoga poses — from simple Warrior and Chair moves to more challenging Eagle and Boat positions. But every movement is subtly enhanced with dumbbell toning — often carefully structured to work your upper and lower body at the same time (e.g. Warrior III with bicep curls: it sculpts your calves while strengthening your arms). Note! The DVD has two 15-minute “workouts” — they are nearly identical (the second just has slightly different cuing). Requires 2 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2011. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Kristin McGee's Yoga Tone

My Favorite DVD
Where to start?! This is an exceptionally well cued, well designed exercise dvd. I love the music. The setting is appropriate because your focus stays on the instructor, her form and her cueing which is impeccable! Because the exercises are so good and thorough, I don't mind that the exercises themselves are done twice. - posted by Jan on 1/20/2012
Challenging & Effective !
I loved this DVD! Imagine doing strength work while in a tough balance pose using even more muscles! You improve not only functional everyday muscle strength but improve your yoga muscles at the same time. Yoga becomes easier and more restful when you are able to completely sustain breathing and open fully to your poses. Well done! - posted by Jan on 12/8/2011
Good 30 minute workout
Two segments, back to back, of the same series of exercises. When done properly, you can get a good cardio workout as well as a toning workout with this DVD. I think Kristin's cueing is outstanding. - posted by Leslie on 9/28/2011
ok workout
I would love this workout if the setting were more appealing. The large rope hanging in the back ground, the tractor tire leaning against the wall. Really?? How about a nice beach scene or mountains in the back ground? Or just a nicer *yoga looking* gym setting? Also- WHY have 2 workouts exactly the same back to back? It would have been better if one workout were a little different than the other....So if I ignore her gym setting and just do one workout for sake of just doing something low key- its an *ok* DVD. - posted by VSgirl on 9/6/2011
Yoga Tone
Yoga Tone is a good exercise video. Yes there are two sections that are alike, and that is the information that Collage Video gave you. - posted by Kristin on 9/1/2011
Love It!
Every time I do this workout I say I am going to write a review. At first the price of this workout had me unsure if I should purchase since it is only a half hour. I am so very glad I did purchase it! I usually do not enjoy yoga at all. This is definitely not your typical yoga dvd. I used 8 lb weights through all of it except the move where you lie on your stomach and lift your arms to the side, there I used 6 lbs. My heart rate was up through this entire dvd and I always feel so great after. I wish it was longer but I do love it! - posted by Mary Ann on 6/1/2011
Top notch cueing
As always Kristin McGee's cues are top notch. This workout is easy to follow and fun. I don't mind that the circuits repeat themselves. I suppose if you wanted you can do the dvd 2 times and get an hour workout in. My only criticism is that I wish there were more stretches at the end. I have Iron Yoga, which I've always enjoyed, but this dvd at half the length is twice the workout. You really have to keep an open mind and give this one a chance. - posted by Mary Anne on 5/29/2011
good
it has a really good selection of yoga with weights exercises but there are 2 circuits both the same-I would have preferred 2 different circuits so I took off a star because they were the same. Each circuit runs 15 min so it is not a long tape. Her boat pose with weights in the hands and between the feet was a killer! I hope she does another tape the same as this but longer and with no repetitions. - posted by dulcy on 5/26/2011
Don't waste your money on this one
I have done Kristin McGee's previous yoga dvd's and generally enjoyed them. This one is a rip off. She advertises two 15 minute segments, but the second one is just a repeat of the first. I threw this dvd away! - posted by Sherrie on 5/26/2011
Kristin McGee's Yoga Tone
This is a great workout. I wish it was longer. It has two fifteen minute workouts or I can do them both both for a really good workout. At first I was disappointed because both workouts are same. I enjoy it because I can use it to fill in with other dvds. Kristen is a great instructor and gives very clear direction on what and how to do the moves. I would recommend this dvd to everyone! - posted by Darlene on 5/12/2011
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
