Time graph for Leslie Sansone: 3 Mile Slim & Sleek Walk
An indoor walking program with a Pilates-style focus on alignment and core engagement (the DVD also has a 12-minute “bonus” Pilates matwork segment). As in all Leslie’s workouts, you get energetic cuing and super-easy-to-follow moves. But this one also features new variations like backward marches and “power knees.” In addition, Leslie talks about the benefits of Pilates and incorporates its principles into many movements (e.g. “focus on your breath,” “draw your belly to your spine”). The last “mile” even includes some Pilates-inspired standing legwork. One-on-one cuing. ©2009. DVD has: Chapter menus, Music only option.

Leslie Sansone: 3 Mile Slim & Sleek Walk

3 Mile Slim & Sleek
After mastering the 2 mile Walk This Way, I am enjoying the challenge of the 3 mile. Although I have walked quite a bit thru my life, now as an older adult I never thought I'd enjoy & actually follow through with video exercising, & use them 5-6 times a wk. I'm hoping for weight loss - after 5-6 wks., it hasn't happened yet- but I have noticed a flatter stomach, better sleeping, less joint/muscle discomfort & just feeling better over all. This is a great video, with frequent movement changes that make the time go quickly. Leslie is a great, encouraging walking coach, & I'm looking forward to a longer walk in the future. - posted by Sylvia on 3/10/2010
This is very good.
I really like this video. The time goes by very quickly. I'm one of the "older" set but this is not too hard for me. It does give a good workout. Since it does work with Pilates principles it gives new moves which are fun and informative. - posted by Roberta on 3/2/2010
I AGREE, ONE OF THE BEST
I ? this video, not sure myself... the music, or count down clock, both are great. It makes working out a easy DONE task for today. I try to switch up my videos week to week, with one week step & abs (Donna Richardson) and the next week with Leslie Sansone walking videos. But, this week was suppose to be Donna, but I ending up doing Leslie again this week. Sorry, Donna. (lol) all kidding aside, this one is a great one for the video library and to add to your workout routine. - posted by Tina on 2/28/2010
This one is great!
I don't know whether it's the music or the countdown clock, but the time just flies by with this DVD! I have 5 or 6 Leslie DVDs and am really glad I bought this one. She incorporates some new moves (arm circles, a new knee-lift step) which are welcome as doing the same old, same old can get boring. The cuing is good, and the exercise is fun and upbeat. - posted by Grace on 2/24/2010
Fabulous!
This workout is most definitely in my Top 3 of Leslie's videos. It is well qued, surprisingly fast, great jazzy music, enough new steps to keep it interesting, enough 'reminders' to keep your muscles active and "conscious" without overdoing it. I can literally go on and on. Also, the stop watch at the bottom is a huge bonus. For some reason it makes the time fly by. This is the fastest 3 mile I've ever done of hers. I'm so glad I didn't let the naysayers discourage me from this DVD. If you are contemplating getting this, GET IT! You won't be disappointed! - posted by Tammy on 2/22/2010
Refreshing Change
I have so many Leslie videos. Had to change from the Firm when I got older and my knees and back were shot from climbing their "Fanny Lifter". Leslie seems a good alternative for the chubby set, the older set, the set that can't keep up with 25 year old spandex babes smiling artificially in the camera whilst the rest of us are panting, soon to drop dead! I have to be honest, Leslie bugs the H**L out of me. Because she doesn't watch her own videos, she has no idea how many times she says the same exact thing in each video, how many times she loses count of a set, how many times she loses track of the movement, how many times she flirts with every unfortunate male who is roped into a video (Jimmy, anyone?) But, I have to say, while this video has the same moves, it actually adds new refreshing ones and then adds a difficult (yes!) pilates extra at the end (oh, she forgets to do a "cool down" before the pilates extra begins...watch her try to make up for it!) So, you do get a good work out and you forget (sort of!) how annoying she is. PS: There are no guests in this video..I guess "Grandma Joe", Mary Kay and Linda can't be trusted yet to do the new Pilates moves. - posted by Taman on 2/17/2010
Same old, same old . . .
I have tons of Leslie videos and love them. However, as other people stated, they are becoming same old, same old. This one really was bad because all she talks about is "Pilates" and how wonderful it is. The "principles" she discusses she always stated in her videos, i.e. stand up with good posture, etc., but now she says it is the "Pilates" way. She is becoming boring without her sidekicks around her as she talks way too much, forgets what she is doing and most of the video are just marches because she isn't telling you to do anything. Also, most of her videos have themes which is fine but in this, the theme is Pilates and she only does it in the last 8 minutes. Other videos themes have been weights or stretch bands and those, too, it seems she only remembers in the last minutes of the video and thinks, "oh, we better quick get this in." They don't seem very well thought out. Please Leslie, think up some new moves and get your crew back in. We love you but you need to be a little more creative! - posted by Susan on 2/16/2010
Leslie's Back!
I really liked this DVD. I have been using Leslie Sansone workouts off and on since about 2000. I had gotten tired of her more recent stuff -off-cuing, bad lighting, etc. - but this one makes up for it. There are a few new moves, but it has what I like best about Leslie - basic steps that I can do without thinking too hard and a workout I will do even when I don't feel like it. I also liked the Pilates introduction. It inspired me to pull out some of my 10 Minute Solutions Pilates DVDs and put them to use again. - posted by Kathy on 2/12/2010
my new FAVORITE Leslie Sansone workout!
YES! This is a keeper...for all of you Leslie veterans like me who love Leslie you are going to be surprised with some new moves on this one! I enjoyed the introduction to Pilates (this is not an intense Pilates workout, just a little introduction of some basic Pilates moves and principles), which made the walk fresh and interesting. Another thing I liked about this workout is the countdown timer for each of the three miles, I liked seeing exactly how much time was left during each mile. The squats in the third mile surprised me, great way to keep up the intensity! As a long-time exerciser, I agree that this is an intermediate level workout...a little sweaty and it gets the heart rate up nicely. This was a good 3 mile workout with extras and it is my new favorite Leslie DVD...will definitely add it to my rotation on a very regular basis. Highly recommended! - posted by Julie (Busy Mom of Seven Gets in Shape) on 1/29/2010
did not really like this one
I have many of Leslie's DVD walking workouts, and I wanted to like this one. I have to say that this is not one of my favorites. I love her 4 Really Big Miles and her recent 5 Mile Fat Burning workouts. This one has some toning in it...but not really pilates based. It seems like the toning is just thrown in with the walking. I did it one time and then sold it. - posted by Annemarie on 1/28/2010

Reading a Time Graph

Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
