Certified instructor description: You get two workouts on two DVDs. The main program, “Four Fast Miles,” is a challenging, all-cardio workout that includes varying walking tempos. It has five complete slower-then-faster cycles -- lower-impact walking segments alternated with higher-impact, higher-speed “bursts” (e.g. jogs, pendulums, step kicks). But don’t worry, Leslie always provides a similarly intense, low-impact option (e.g. a wide-ranging side-step instead of a jog). Like the all-sizes-and-shapes class, you’re sure to be energized by the varying tempos and Leslie’s legendary enthusiasm (everyone really is laughing and having fun). The exercises are super easy to follow and totally non-dancy — mostly variations of marches, jogs, kicks and knee-ups. Soundtrack includes sing-along vocal oldies like “We are Family,” “I Feel Good,” “Respect” and “New Attitude.” The second workout is "1 Mile Jog." This short program is more intense than regular walking. Instead, you’re actually jogging - moving at a much faster pace with your feet off the ground (e.g. a familiar side step becomes a leg-swinging pendulum, a knee-up now incorporates a hop). ©2007. DVD has: Chapter menus, Narrow screen.

Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles

Overall Very Good!
I love this work-out! I would do it daily if I could. Leslie's best ever! One thing that you might consider not getting it for: She is talking to Jimmy way too much, and get's talking so much, she forgets that they are filming. She is a very good instructor, and she is easy to listen to. Leslie, however, gets talking too much, and sometimes gets a little carried away with Jimmy. (ie. talks to him and forgets about the rest of the cast as seen in the 3 mile video, calls Jimmy 'Baby Doll' and 'My Love' etc.) This is overall a wonderful workout! I totally recommend it! - posted by Alannah-Kassie on 12/29/2012
Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles
I really really really love this workout. The intervals are great and make me work up a sweat! Love the music, Leslie and her group of walkers. People complain she's too chatty but I love her! I love her enthusiam and her energy, it keeps me motivated. I keep returning to this DVD over and over again. It's fun to do. - posted by Linda on 12/17/2011
A different Walk at Home
I have walked many a mile with Leslie Sansone. I am a 50+ year old customer who has several walk aerobics workouts in her collection. This DVD is different than the other Walk at Home products I own. This one employs not only the boosted walk segments but also the 3 minute fast intervals. The 4 miles are accomplished in rapid time and I enjoy that. The other change is using "hit" music along with the usual walk aerobic music. For the most part this is refreshing, but I wish the song that is used for the 2 minute boost had a stronger beat. To me it's almost rhythmic. Also this is one of Leslie's "chattier/sillier" workouts. After doing this routine a couple of times I used the MUSIC ONLY feature. But this is a very good workout. I think I would classify it as more intermediate level instead of intermediate/advanced level. - posted by Bonnie on 11/19/2011
Love Leslie!
I love the pace of this workout. I have so many of them and I just switch them up. After using the five miles walk for awhile, I ran my first 5K and my time was awesome. Love all of her videos. - posted by Bonnie on 11/17/2011
Her Best One Of All
This is my favorite Leslie workout because each mile has the jogging (boosted walking) and this is exactly what I wanted. I wish she would make a 5 mile walk where Each mile is FAST walking and with each mile having a jogging interval in the end. GET THIS ONE. YOU WILL LOVE IT - posted by J.G. on 10/16/2011
I'M A LESLIE FAN!!
If you want a challenge this is it!! I love Leslie and can never tire of her videos..I love when she works out with her team, but also love it when she works out alone. I read where some people cannot stand her music and feel she is doing the same work out, but I have to tell you Leslie does the trick for me. In the beginning I could barely do only 1 mile, but after sticking to it, I now do 3-4 miles 5xs a week, and I can see the difference. - posted by Sandy on 10/6/2011
Great workout!
I love Leslie's DVDs and have several, as I like to have some variety in my workouts. This one has a great group she exercises with, and, as always, I love that her workout friends are "regular people" who actually sweat vs. perfect-looking models that a lot of the other exercise DVDs have. A great, fast-paced workout, and you have the option to do one, two, three or all four miles. A must-have for your Leslie Sansone library!! - posted by Susan on 5/26/2011
My favorite!
Yes, Leslie is "chatty"... she always is, but I LOVE this DVD! It is my favorite of hers so far, and I have several. I enjoy the "class" videos more than when Leslie is solo, and the intervals are just the best! I think this video goes very quickly, because of the intervals and the fast pace. There is also the "music only" option, for those who don't like the instructions/talking in the video. Definitely a must have for any Walking fans, you won't be disappointed! - posted by Kelly on 4/7/2011
GREAT VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Leslie is very entertaining, I love her videos. They are very easy to follow. This is definitely one to try. The 15 minute jogging DVD, is helpful if you don't have alot of time in your day, but you still get a boost!!!!!! - posted by CATHY on 3/24/2011
Great workout!
I love all of Leslie's workouts and this one is no exception. As with all of her workouts, the moves are fairly simple and start out easy. The pace increases gradually but by the time you are finished, you have really worked up a sweat. I really like the fact that you can choose to go the entire four miles or choose to do less according to your level of fitness or amount of time you have. Some people don't like the fact that she talks so much but, I think it makes the time seem to go faster. - posted by Lynn on 3/10/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
