Certified instructor description: A customizable program with 11 different “premixed” workouts. It’s all designed to provide an endless variety of styles, tempos and lengths. Each of the initial three segments is different. The first is “Cardio Kick” — a dynamic series of kicks, punches and traveling patterns. Next is “Cardio Strong” — it uses a medicine ball to boost cardio intensity while toning your upper body. Then it’s “Cardio Jump” — this section mimics jump-roping exercises with a “ropeless jump rope” (two handles with a short, swinging cord). The final three segments are interval versions of the earlier techniques (e.g. “Cardio Jump Intervals” has the kicks, punches and traveling moves done in alternating fast/slow intervals). The 11 premixes combine all six segments in varying combinations. Requires a medicine ball; the “ropeless jump rope is optional.” ©2010. DVD has: 11 premixes (25 to 83 min. alternate workouts), Wide screen, Region 1.

Mindy Mylrea's All Out Cardio

didn't like it
If you like Denise Austin type teaching then this is the video for you. Her cuing is all over the map. I hope others have a better experience than I did. As for me, I am sending this one back. - posted by Tracy on 10/3/2011
High intensity!
I really enjoy Mindy's workouts and this one didn't disappoint! This is definitely an advanced workout-high intensity and fun! I give it 4 stars because she doesn't have a great warm up and she moves pretty fast so it takes a couple times before you get the moves. She is a great instructor though and this is a fast paced, fun workout w/a bunch of different workout options! - posted by Amy V on 9/8/2011
Fun
Working out with Mindy is fun! She's great at motivating you and keeping you interested in the workout without being like a drill sergeant. The workout was also intense enough to get my heart rate up. There are a lot of short workouts which fit it really well to my busy schedule. - posted by Cynthia on 5/11/2011
Good long cardio session
This is my first Mindy Mylrea's DVD ..I like her. She is a little corny but her heart is in the right place! This is great for me.. It is a 83 minutes of pretty hard cardio. I enjoyed it mainly because she is about my age and she looks great and a great role model. I really enjoyed the jump rope section at the end. I got the rope less jump rope . I like it however it is not needed for the work out. - posted by Kate on 3/17/2011
Love love love....
I love Mindy, she's kind of goofy but this a hard workout...it is simple to follow but I sweated my butt off..she made me laugh a few times, her son is in the add ons, kinda cool to see. I would buy this, it is soooooo worth it!! - posted by Kelley on 3/17/2011
excellent cardio
This is a great cardio workout and the moves are pretty basic, love the fact that I can mix and match segments to create the amount of time that I want to work out. Music could be better. - posted by Beth on 2/21/2011
super
this dvd is great and offers a lot of different options and workouts...but then.... what else would we expect from mindy!!!!!!!!! - posted by m on 2/17/2011
Another great video by Mindy
I just did this workout yesterday morning, and it certainly delivers - Mindy is always so full of energy and that passes through in her workouts. She has her son in some of the routines - nice young man - another great workout, Mindy!! - posted by Patty on 2/1/2011
well done but very high impact
I like this workout, but it definitely is not for people who want to avoid high impact. I can do some high impact but don't like to do a lot of it so I had to modify quite a bit in doing this workout. It is well cued and Mindy Mylrea is an enthusiastic instructor. The set and the music are a little bland and uninspiring. I did the entire workout the first time that I tried it, but I think in the future I will probably just do a section at a time, perhaps as an add-on to other workouts. One annoying thing is that for the jump rope section she uses what look like jump rope handles with very short pieces of rope attached. It looks like fun, but who in the world has those? You can just do it with no accessories or with light weights or weighted gloves though. - posted by Barb on 1/30/2011
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.
sample time graph
Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
Wide screen
X
The program fully fills a wide-screen television screen. Note: These videos will display black bars at the top and bottom on a traditional 4 x 3 ratio TV screen.
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
