Time graph for Mindy Mylrea's Super Cycle
More than just a plain “spinning class,” this is a fat-burning cycling adventure. Sure — like any interval workout — you’ll be peddling fast and slow, up hills and down, through intervals and sprints. But Mindy’s cuing is unique; it’s based on an actual “real world ride” (e.g. “speed up; you’re being chased by a dog” or “reduce your speed to let the other riders catch up”). Includes a thorough warm up and soothing yoga stretch. Beautiful oceanside setting. ©2006. DVD has: Chapter menus, Music only option.

Mindy Mylrea's Super Cycle

Overall a very good ride
This is a good work out. Mindy is a bit goofy at times, but not in an obnoxious way. I like the outdoor scenery. - posted by Gayle on 4/8/2010
good
Have an older Reebok eliptical which has only programmes. Use this as a programme. Excellent alternative. Recommend it. - posted by luli on 3/14/2010
AWESOME, AWESOME!
I typically have used Carmichael Training Systems cycling videos and was worried this one wasn't going to be as good because it was outdoors on an exercise bike. I was VERY pleasantly surprised! Not only did I really enjoy the outdoor scenery, but the workout is very challenging, has variety, humor, and is FUN! I'm re-inspired to train for my group cycling rides this spring/summer. I really like the stretching at the end, which the Carmichael videos that I have don't do. The stretching for me is critical. Mindy is an exceptional instructor with great cuing and really keeps you motivated throughout. I highly recommend this video. It's my new favorite! - posted by Marie on 12/30/2009
I LOVE this video
I love this video! I have had spinning bike for 4 mos and video for same time frame. It is an excellent workout and Mindy's explainations help gauge how hard I should be working (workout is also fun). I have other spinning tapes but do not like them nearly as much as this one. The only spinning tapes that come close to this (in terms of fun/hard workout) are the spinnervals workouts. I highly recommend Mindy Mylreas The best ride in town. - posted by Cindy on 10/12/2008
good workout
This is a good solid workout. I really dislike my time on the spin bike and this workout made it a bit more enjoyable. Yes, the scene setups are a bit hokey but then again they did help to visualize what she wanted to accomplish. As with any w/o it's up to you to push yourself and maximize your work out. - posted by Fach on 6/18/2007

Liked it a lot
I was somewhat skeptical because she was outside on a spinning bike. I wasn't sure what to expect. But, by being outdoors, she set up the ride as if we were riding in pursuit of our partner, who we were supposed to meet for the workout, but who left us behind when we didn't arrive on time. She also has a dog chase us and wants us to pass some elite riders along the way. Although it was a bit artificial, it did motivate me to speed up when I was supposed to. Since the video lasts longer that 45 minutes, I was happy. (Most of the spinning videos on the market do 45 minutes, no more.) She is not much into instructing about form and proper posture while riding, so if you are new to indoor cycling this video may not be for you. The quality of the audio was at times poor and it was hard to make out the end of her sentences. If cuing is important for you, beware of that glitch. Overall, a good workout. It is flexible and you can change it to increase or decrease intensity. - posted by TLewis on 8/5/2006
Incredible cardio - not a wimpy workout
I wanted this DVD for two reasons; Mindy is one of my favorite instructors. I also have a 21 year old Schwinn exercise bike that still works great and I was curious to see if this DVD would really get my heart rate up and allow me to get more practical use out of my bike. I'm not disappointed. This workout is super TOUGH. Of course, you could easily modify it to start out with (and you probably will), but it is definitely a routine you can grow with. The intervals are not easy, and at the end, you are literally standing on the pedals, simulating a hill climb for five minutes - my heart was pounding the whole time. If you think that exercise bikes can't provide a great cardiovascular workout, this DVD will prove otherwise. - posted by Cat on 7/17/2006

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Music only option
X
This feature allows you to play only the music, without any cuing (after you’ve learned the movements and you just want to do the workout without listening to the instruction).
