Certified instructor description: A fun and innovative, total-body workout. The stability ball makes it both lively and effective. It minimizes impact while helping to target the muscles used during and after pregnancy. You’re never standing during the cardio. Instead you’ll raise your heart rate by bouncing on the ball as you wave your arms and “dance” with your feet (e.g. grapevines, heel digs, knee lifts). The toning includes both on and off-ball exercises — they use whichever technique is the most effective. Taught at three different levels, the moves are all designed to make it easier to give birth and care for your baby. Features a high-energy, all-pregnant class and excellent production quality. ©2003. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Preggi Bellies Ball Workout

Not Sure What I'm Missing Either
I have to agree with Hope. I was very excited about this video. However, the ball for my height did not work at all and I purchased a different ball to accommodate and be safe. Neither felt right to me no matter what position I had my legs, and I made it a point to carefully watch the recommended position in the beginning. The last two times I did this workout my lower back hurt the next day. In fact, this time it's been two days and I know it's not from my pregnancy. I'm intermediate/advanced, so I'll just highly modify Cathe and Firm not using the step and Leslie Sansone. Many others seem to love it, it's just not for me. - posted by Marilyn on 9/27/2010
Great Do-able Pregnancy Workout
I have always been a sort of a workout junkie until my first baby came along, and I haven't been able to find the time. But now in my second pregnancy and a little more out of shape than anticipated I needed something to ease me back into a workout. Preggie Bellies is wonderful. I feel like I'm getting a decent workout to maintain health and tonality for recovery and delivery, but in a very do-able workout. They are constantly giving two or three options for everything so you can go light or heavier. I also feel less coordinated when I'm pregnant for some reason and didn't want to have super complicated moves. Again. I'm very happy with this video. The ball makes everything virtually impact free! Great for my already tired feet and back! =) - posted by Penny on 9/2/2010
Not sure what I'm missing
Got this video, based on the positive recommendations, but I am VERY disappointed. As another reviewer indicated, I have the correct ball for my height to be in a safe position for the other videos I have that use balls. But it looks like this video wants your knees at more of a 45 degree angle from the hip? This is contrary to all other ball workouts I have used. I tried to do the aerobics section using my current ball and my hips felt very uncomfortable in an alarming way. I'm not sure how you could use this without buying a whole different ball or overinflating your own (and then subsequently deflating to use with ordinary videos). This one is likely going to be donated. I don't feel comfortable with it. - posted by Hope on 5/29/2010
Love It!
I love the video. It is great and allows for beginners as well as fit people. I was fairly fit before I became pregnant but became sedentary for 3 months due to being so tired, this feels like a great way to 'get back into it' for me. The only concern - I purchased a ball for my height (a 65 cm) and it was way too small. I would recommend purchasing a ball bigger. I ended up purchasing a 2nd ball (75 cm) and it works much better! - posted by Natalie on 5/7/2010
Like it !
This is a very good workout for pregnant women, the warm up is fast paced as well as the aerobics section, you even sweat a little. This is my first pregnancy dvd so I can't compare to others, but I would recommend it to any pregnant friend. - posted by Kathy on 4/9/2010

I really enjoyed the workout!
I am on my 5th month in my pregnancy. I normally workout on and off. This workout felt like a step class combined with toning exercises. I loved it. I only wish the aerobics segment lasted a little longer. I also wish I knew which ball to buy; I had previously purchased a ball from Walmart. It appeared to be way too small compared to the ball shown on the video. This made my workout a little harder as I was bouncing around all over my living room, and couldn't focus on the exercises. Overall I had a good workout with enough resistance. - posted by Kim on 5/12/2009
Finally something sweaty!
I am 17 weeks along and just did this video for the first time last week. I have been keeping up on my workouts with a couple other pre-natal videos and the Leslie Sansone walking DVDs. Out of all the pre-natal videos I have tried so far, this one is definitely the most intense but I really liked it. The only trouble I had is that my exercise area is carpeted and the double step touches were a little difficult as my ball didn't slide along the ground as smoothly as it might have on another surface. The weight section was awesome and I actually felt like I got a great workout. My goal is to just keep moving so I don't have to start all over once I am done with being pregnant! - posted by Cara on 10/15/2008
Best Pregnancy Video there is!
I have tried many pregnancy videos and this one is by far my favorite. I was previously disappointed and bored by what I have tried. For this video it is easy to step up the pace to get a challenge for intermediate/advanced exercises. I consider myself an intermediate level and I have had to take the "easy" route on a few moves. I feel invigorated when I'm finished and feel a difference in my abdominal muscles and legs after 3 weeks of using the video 3-4 times a week. I feel it is very balanced and the program is not afraid to make you workout safely. It is okay to sweat while pregnant!!! - posted by Jaime on 7/28/2008
Energizing
I love the workout! I'm 18 weeks, seeing the other girls in there 30th week is inspiring especially when the instructor reminds you to keep your tummy pulled in. I feel energized every time I do it. It's challenging enough so you feel like you get a great workout. THANKS! - posted by Princess on 3/5/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
