Time graph for Quick Fix: Total Body

Effective and well-cued, this video features three very different 10-minute workouts (each one gets slightly more intense). Each segment features a single focused toning style — part one is a blend of toning classics and compound-muscle moves (working multiple body parts at once). Part two is a medley of fairly fast-paced, toning-oriented kickbox routines. Part three is an intense series of power-jack, plié and push-up exercises. You’ll always have time for at least one workout. Or do them in sequence for a varied half-hour program. Minna Lessig, Nancy Popp and Julie Upton’s solid instruction will keep you energized while the corner-of-the-screen countdown timer keeps you motivated. Requires 2 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2000.

Easy Total Body Routine with Variety
For those who think this video is too slow, I wonder if they realize it is meant to be toning and not cardio exercise (though you get a little bit of cardio on part 3). For the intention of simply toning, it is at just the right pace. It's pretty easy for someone who is intermediate, so like some of the other reviewers, I add heavier weights to the first part as well as using weights on the second part. This really increases the workload. I wouldn't use this as my only routine since I need cardio as well, but it is a great addition for toning purposes. - posted by Lainie on 3/29/2007
LAZY DAYS
Hi! I find this workout to be one of those that you use on a weekend and find it to be a more relaxed and laid back workout-rather than intense.I do like the personalities of the instructors, however. I like each unique 'spin' on all the ways that each of the instructors teach each strengthening section. This is a good one for beginners as well! - posted by HC on 11/5/2006
Good for beginners
This was my first exercise video. Actually, the first time I have ever worked out. It got me hooked! Now, 6 months later, I like to do the third segment and then add two or three 15-minute segments from the 15-Minute Workouts For Dummies, or Karen Voight Streamline Fitness DVD (minus the yoga part). I sort of use the third segment as a warm-up. I saw results pretty quickly with this DVD but it wasn't challenging for long. It also comes in handy when you don't have an hour to dedicate to a good workout. I am going to try to get my sister started with this one too. - posted by Terri on 5/26/2005
Short but not really challenging until third segment
I bought this tape for days when I really didn't have time to exercise. The instructors are pleasant and attractive but I don't believe they got their shapes from doing these routines! The third segment is the only one that is a bit challenging. The other two do nothing. I do like the clock countdown in the lower corner, though. Great idea to keep you going... hey, anybody can do 10 minutes, right! - posted by Laura C. on 10/14/2003
I love them!
As an advanced exerciser, I love the Quick Fix tapes! They certainly are not advanced, but the workouts give you a great boost. If you are crunched for time, but still want a little sweat these tapes are great! I love the instructors, too. You begin with legs, then arms, then a mix of both. It goes so fast there is no excuse you should not be moving everyday. These tapes make it easy to get moving. - posted by Jenni McMaster on 8/3/2003
Save your money
The first and third of the 10 minute segments are okay but the instructors spend too much time explaining each move. There are only 10 minutes to each segment, and it seems like two minutes of each segment is spent describing the next move. I felt like the second segment was doing absolutely nothing. I always skip it. - posted by Sandy on 7/23/2003
Waste of money!
I bought the whole quick fix set, and it was a waste of my money. I didn't feel anything when I did the videos. It was way too easy, and I didn't like the instructors. If you want a good workout I suggest the Tamilee Webb series, which I have and love. I thought the quick fix series would be good to fit into my rotation, but I was wrong. Save your money and buy something better! - posted by Angelina on 3/10/2003
Get the Whole Set!!!
The complete Quick Fix 4 pack is excellent! Short but extremely effective workouts. It's nice to know that you can get fit in a short amount of time. I highly recommend these videos. - posted by Pam on 2/27/2003
A Truly Quick Fix
Like all the other Quick Fix tapes, this offers a three 10-minute workouts that fit into anyone's busy schedule. I liked doing this tape after a hard day of working both full time and part time. I didn't have much energy, but I could do these workouts and still get in some exercise. My favorite routine is the kickboxing one. I shied away from kickboxing as too advanced for me until I got this tape. Now I'm going to buy more kickboxing tapes. - posted by April on 12/26/2002
depends on what you want
If what you're really looking for is an intense 10 minute total body workout, this ain't it. If you are looking for 10 min. workouts to fit your schedule or to add on to other workouts, this is a good pick. The first workout uses weights and is quite thorough especially for its length. The second workout is a very slow kickbox/box program that is best suited as a warmup or cool down for cardio or toning. I wasn't pleased with it at all. The final segment is a body weight program with push ups and plyos- effective especially for its short length. Overall, I found these best as add ons to other workouts. I thought some of the dialogue between the instructors seemed canned, although they all used good form. If you really can only work in 10 minutes at a time, this tape has variety to help you stay on track. - posted by linda on 12/9/2001

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
