Certified instructor description: A two-workout DVD with some unique features — a superb tutorial and a choice of audio tracks. The “pose guide” is exceptionally detailed. Rodney and Colleen Saidman show you the exact positions and movements for 20 classic yoga poses (do you really know how to do a proper sun salutation?). Those poses are then used in two easy-to-follow workouts: Rodney’s “energizing” program and Colleen’s “rejuvenating” program. Besides the normal, full-instruction audio track, you get two additional options. “Pose only” avoids distractions with limited cuing, while “inspirational” focuses on your mental attitude (e.g. mountain pose: “think about a strong, steady, majestic mountain”). Filmed in a beautiful oceanside setting. ©2009. DVD has: Chapter menus, Wide screen.

Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners

Good basics
I was looking for an instructional video that would give me a good foundation of the yoga basics and this fit the bill. Not sure how often I will pull it into my rotation but it served its purpose. - posted by Victoria on 2/9/2012
Excellent Instruction.
Excellent instruction. I actually hurt my back from doing poses incorrectly. This tape helped me to continue my yoga poses pain free and is helping me strengthen my back. - posted by Rmiller on 12/15/2011
Bad videography
The camera angle changes constantly. It made it impossible to follow for a beginner. This is Gaiam - Not Rodney Yees wrong doing. - posted by Lisa on 12/13/2011
very important
This dvd is very important for me, because it teaches how to do the moves. Some I have been doing wrong for years. I should have seen this years ago! - posted by Karen on 11/3/2011
The Details Matter
I found the instruction to be especially effective. Very clearly stated and demonstrated. I have limitations due to back problems but could easily recognize what moves I could do and do correctly. I felt rejuvenated in a completely different way from my usual aerobics and muscle toning. I've done yoga in the past and was glad I got back into it with this dvd. - posted by Cathy on 10/13/2011
very good video
The pose guide was excellent. The workouts are easy to follow. The only negative thing was in the first workout, the transition into warrior one was very awkward because Rodney has you set your feet after you have already raised your arms. I set my feet first, and it works out much better after that. - posted by Cathie on 10/13/2011
Good for beginners
I like Rodney Yee's style of not spending too much time on involved instructions. I am a real beginner. I use both of these workouts in the evenings after work and they are both relaxing and energizing. - posted by Vicki on 9/15/2011
Excellent Video
This video is extremely well done and great quality. Particularly helpful is the specific instructions on which parts of the body to move, how to breath, etc., so that one gets the most out of the exercises. One of the best I've experienced. I will definitely consider his videos first when shopping again. - posted by Gayle on 6/30/2011
Great Introduction to Yoga
I found these routines comprehensible and doable. I can do these poses and find them relaxing and mildly challenging. Rodney and Colleen know how to engage you and gently guide you into a yoga sequence that is calming and is mildly challenging. I feel much better about yoga and myself. - posted by Juli on 6/9/2011
Great Program for Basic Instruction
I bought AM/PM Yoga first and loved it! I wanted some instruction to make sure that I was doing the poses correctly. This fit the bill exactly The two programs (each about 15-20 minutes) are wonderful, relaxing, invigorating. I am using this video in the morning before getting ready for work. Just one segment or the other is enough to get me stretched out and ready for the day. I would a) recommend this to a friend and b) buy this again. - posted by dschad2001 on 3/27/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
