Certified instructor description: You can choose from five different goal-focused tai chi segments: balance, strength, mobility, flexibility or stress reduction. They all feature fluid motions, detailed instruction and tranquil settings (ranging from an outdoor meadow to a cozy fireside). While the actual movements are familiar tai chi classics, each section is designed to achieve a specific objective. For example, “mobility” includes weight-shifting positions while “stress reduction” emphasizes slow, deep breathing (sometimes seated on a chair). Scott’s one-on-one instruction is exceptionally easy to follow and non-intimidating (“just let your body go where it goes”). DVD also has a short “position review” tutorial section. ©2013. DVD has: Chapter menus, Music only option.

Scott Cole's Discover Tai Chi for Fitness

An excellent Tai Chi video, beautiful set, great strength and functional mov't sections
I have Scott Cole's Tai Chi for Weight Loss, and love it. I got this one because it has shorter segments. The strength section actually left me legs 'feeling it' the first time--I felt like I'd done lunges and squats at the gym. I also really enjoy the 'functional movement' and 'flexibility' portions. I felt like my torso got a lot of attention, which is excellent post-partum for me. An excellent combination of relaxation and movement. A wonderful adjunct to heavier hitting workout routines, to help the body relax and renew. The settings are gorgeous--one segment is even done at the shallow end of a pool. Beautiful! - posted by Carrie on 5/2/2013

Easy to follow instructions. Great for beginners and seniors. The venues where the exercises were performed are beautiful. - posted by Emma on 4/21/2013
Scott Cole's Funny
I love his sense of humor, and come on who doesn't feel great doing a monkey-bear? This is a good challenging video. It is divided into different sections as the instructor description lays out so each segment progresses in difficulty with relaxation at the end. Each segment also moves to a different location - love the pool segment. I take this video to the park on the portable so I can do the moves under the gazebo out in the open. I'm sure some of the other park goers think I'm weird but Tai Chi is so relaxing outdoors and barefoot in the lawn than on the carpet in the living room to me. - posted by Herbie on 4/18/2013
Wonderful scot cole DVD
I am new to tai chi, but not to keeping fit. Scott Cole leads you clearly and engagingly through a routine, and leaves you feeling absolutely great. His cool down isn't tai chi, but is a beautiful finish to his program. He talks kindly and gently, and I find I want to do the routine with him almost every day! - posted by Candace on 3/28/2013
Scott's Best Yet
Just did this DVD this morning and although it's broken down into five 10-minutes sections, you can't stop with just one. So relaxing yet energizing. Scott has added many more tai chi moves to this workout and linked them together into a sort of flow so you get a feel for doing real tai chi without the stress of following a complicated form. Just mirror what Scott is doing and enjoy the movement of energy. Feel the stress melt away. The DVD was filmed at a desert lodge and the scenery is beautiful. Also the music is just right for this type of practice. Love it. - posted by Chrystal on 2/16/2013
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus
X
You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
Music only option

This feature allows you to play only the music, without any cuing (after you’ve learned the movements and you just want to do the workout without listening to the instruction).
