Certified instructor description: A varied mix of proven dumbbell routines especially modified for seniors (“real” exercises designed to build strength and endurance). For safety and comfort, every move is performed either seated or standing behind a chair (in separate segments, so you can choose the style you prefer). The modifications are very well-planned; they range from subtle hand-position changes to more extensive movement options. Craig Marcacci is a veteran seniors’ instructor; his cuing is easy-to-follow and never condescending. Exercisers range from 55 to 75 years old. Quiet instrumental music. Requires 1 to 5 lb. dumbbells (Craig suggests two weight levels). ©2007. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Getting Fit
Thoroughly enjoy this warm up routine. It prepares me for a more strenuous workout. - posted by charles on 1/26/2012
Senior Fitness:Easy does it
I bought this DVD for my wife. She likes it and has been doing the exercises with pleasure. They are easy to follow and a good workout for somebody who is not a "young chicken" anymore. - posted by Luis on 12/18/2011
Worth adding to the routine.
My husband likes this video routine the best of those we own. For me, some of the moves and positions are not workable, because the angles are wrong for my joints, or because I'm too short (five feet) for the chair exercise positions. So, I have to sit out a chunk of the routine. On the plus side: the instructor is pleasant, very clear, and always lets you know exactly where you are in every exercise. I find this DVD worth adding to our collection, but others are more helpful for me. - posted by Judith on 11/17/2011

Good workout for those of us with issues who require us to do a gentler type of workout. However, I must say that the exercises where he tells you to slump in the chair a little bit, left my lower back sore. Not sure that is so great for the spine. - posted by SAF on 11/9/2011
Love It!
He gives great instructions. He is also very easy on the eyes, that it takes your mind off of the exercise you are doing so that it doesn't seem so boring. I think young girls/women would enjoy doing these exercises just to watch him. - posted by Sandra on 10/21/2011
Fine instruction
Senior fitness is one of the best aids for getting in shape again after going without exercise for a while. My husband and I really enjoy the calm instruction and knowledgeable instructor. - posted by Ruth on 10/20/2011
feel good workout
he keeps it moving so you don't get bored and want to stop half-way thru the workout. suits me perfectly on days I do not feel like doing an aerobic video - posted by shirley on 7/14/2011

I have a herniated disc in my lower back, and I am 60 lbs overweight. I'm 65 yrs old. This is a NO impact program, all the movements are slow and easy. You'll need some handweights and a chair. No exercises are done lying on the floor. Craig is encouraging, and informative. I enjoy the video and feel good after I finish. It does not bother my back at all. - posted by Linda on 6/9/2011
Senior Fitness "Easy Does It"
I have Parkinson's disease, and am in my late 70's. I found this video to be perfect-movements that help me with my leg muscles and upper body strength. It is done at an easy pace, and well thought out. - posted by Mildred on 2/24/2011
very poor dvd
I am a qualified fitness instructor since 1983. I teach the seniors. I was totally disappointed with this dvd. The instructor has no relationship with his participants. All he does is counts, counts and counts and the participants look absolutely bored to death. I cannot recommend this dvd to any body. Keeping fit should be fun and enjoyable with good instructions - sorry but this dvd lacked all of the aforementioned. - posted by Hermaline on 2/22/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
