Certified instructor description: A well-structured series of easy-to-follow exercises especially designed to minimize knee discomfort. These simple moves target the muscles that surround and support your knees -- building strength while also improving flexibility. The workout begins with a short explanation of knee, tendon and muscle physiology. Then, Chantal Donnelly strengthens each muscle group with two different exercise sequences (one easier and one a little harder). An experienced physical therapist, Chantal's approach is calm, friendly and very informative. The program ends with a varied set of knee-focused stretches. DVD also includes a condensed, seven-minute workout for your busier days. Stretch section uses a strap (a towel or belt will also work). ©2009. DVD has:

    Good Lesson |
| I learned A LOT about my knees from this video - it's more a tutorial about how knees work and how certain exercises can help strengthen your knees. There is the tutorial, then a short workout, then more tutorial, etc... I wish I could just skip to the workouts. - posted by Belinda on 1/26/2012 |

    Excellent exercises for knees! |
| I highly recommend this DVD if you want to strengthen your knees! The exercises are varied and the 7 minute short version is helpful! I also appreciated the bonus material such as how to prevent falls by doing certain exercises that help with balance. - posted by Susan on 1/23/2012 |

Fantastic workout for knee strengthening!! |
| Wow! This video is wonderful. I bought it as a follow-up to physical therapy and a personal trainer following knee surgery for a torn meniscus. I just didn't feel as balanced and strong as I would have liked after all that time training and strengthening and this video fills the bill. Chantel has prepared a brief discussion on each of the muscles that support the knee, explaining - without overwhelming - their function and the reasons they need to be strong. This workout has really augmented my sessions with the physical therapist and I am confidant that I can now reach my fitness goals. She also offers a couple of balance exercises, a means of skipping her brief and creating your own workout, and a special section on massaging your i-T band. There is also a 7-minute workout when you are short on time. I'm so pleased to have found this video. - posted by Jody on 1/11/2012 |

    Knee Video |
| I had a significant knee injury over 10 years ago. I've only used the video a few times so far, but the excercises are not too strenuous and I feel like over time it will really help with my knee pain and give me more flexiblity. - posted by M. Tyler on 12/18/2011 |

continue your therapy at home |
| If you have had an ankle or knee injury this is the video for you. As time passes we tend to forget the exercises the therapist taught us during recovery but this video has all of them. You can continue to have the healthiest and fittest knees and ankles possible! - posted by Cheryl on 11/10/2011 |

    Just what I needed |
| I tore my ACL two years ago. I have remained active and am back to full strength but I continue to have pain. This video is very simple and at first I was a little disappointed in it, but it is just what I needed. It really works the individual muscles and targets strengthening your knees. The moves are all ones I know but tend to forget about. This video puts the program all together for you. I read all the reviews prior to buying it and I really appreciated being told about the menu so you can just select the exercises without listening to the full instructions every time. This is very simple but for those of us who need direction it is worth is. I still am having pain but it is getting better and I can already tell my knees are stronger and better supported. - posted by Nicola on 11/8/2011 |

    Informative and Well-Designed |
| Chantal Donnelly's _Strong Knees_ is informative, well-designed, and effective. Donnelly clearly and concisely explains how multiple areas--from calves to quads to hips--work to support the knees. She also shows a series of exercises that strengthen and stretch those areas to eliminate or prevent many knee problems. The DVD includes multiple workout options (including design-your-own and a seven-minute workout) at different levels, and I alternate on different days. I'm happy to do the exercises not only because they are effective but because Donnelly is friendly without being overwhelmingly perky. I recommend this DVD. - posted by Caroline on 10/27/2011 |

    Stronger knees immediately |
| This is a very informative dvd. Chantal clearly explains the biomechanics of maintaining strong knees. The exercises have helped me strengthen my knees and she also provides important stretching to counter the strengthening exercises. Since I used this several times I would like an option to more easily skip over the explanation sections. At this point I just need the exercises. But overall a great dvd - important information for everyone, even for those without knee problems. At some point everyone will need to pay attention to their knees. I would love to see Chantal do other similar videos for shoulders, ankles/feet and hips. - posted by Doreen on 8/18/2011 |
