Time graph for Tae Bo Billy's BootCamp Infomercial: Basic
Four complete workouts: three upper and lower-body-focused aero/tone plus an abs-focused program. An effective blend of Tae Bo, traditional muscle toning and calisthenics, they all use the special rubber-tubing "Billy Bands" (included in this set). The bands truly add a new dimension to classic Tae Bo. They improve both intensity and technique (e.g. a kick is more powerful - and can’t be over-extended - when you’re working against the band). You’ll begin with "Basic Training," a solid workout that also shows how to use the band. Then "Live" features an energetic, fast-changing medley of both band and non-band routines (it’s filmed "live" on an outdoor set). "Ultimate," at an inter/advan-level, is designed to maintain the challenge as you get stronger. It includes kick-and-punch combos, higher-impact jumping jacks and tough floorwork. Finally, "Abs" is all core toning - a sequence of standing oblique twists and innovative floor routines (e.g. "straddle sit-up with a hamstring stretch"). Includes a Success Plan, dog tags and seven days of vitamins. ©2005. Click here to see the six-video "Deluxe" version of this set.

Tae Bo Billy's BootCamp Infomercial: Basic

Back for more
I'm back for more of this. I gave mine away a few months ago, because I got depressed with my weight gain due to hypothyroid. Boy was that a mistake. I miss these videos so much, and didn't appreciate the results it gave me. I have most of Billy's other workouts now, and they just don't compare. Just ordered this again, and can't wait for it to come. - posted by Ray on 6/25/2007
I sweat like a pig !
Ultimate taebo is the BEST, its a fantastic workout of cardio and toning, I LUV IT.I have a few billy blanks DVDs, and man this one is the best ever that i have tried so far (the only thing is my knees feel a little week the next day from all that squatting).55 MINS of Billy in ultimate, i literally have to hang my cloths to dry before putting them in the dirty laundry basket. - posted by Leecy on 5/1/2007

Billy Bands
I really liked these videos, except for the fact that I wear a size 10 extra wide shoe and my son wears a size 12 extra wide, and the bands are not wide enough at the bottom to fit either one of us. - posted by Mary B. on 3/12/2007
Ultimate Workout video
The Ultimate workout video literally kicks my butt. I have been in the gym and workout but had taken a break from using his tapes. I decided to do the Ultimate video two days ago and I still can't walk up steps after two days. My butt literally hurts. Great leg and butt buster. - posted by Robin on 2/22/2007
Not great
okay. here is what i have to say about billy. if you've seen one you've seen them all. yes they work you but, i get so darn distracted by his horrible cueing. i mean there are times when one side is not done. i also hate how he constantly stops to talk to the camera. the music is blah, elevator music, and i just can't ever find myself finishing this one not because it's hard but because i get so darn bored and annoyed. not worth the money. - posted by on 2/21/2007
Simple Warnings
This should not really be called a "basic" workout. I love Billy and am glad to finally see him do some warm-ups before jumping right in. However, this is suppose to be progressive and talks a lot about it being easy at first. It's not. I have never seen any of Billy's workouts (and I have a lot) that are easy in the slightest. So if you are up for a challenge then go for it. I like the bands especially with kicking. Keeps you straighter. But my only complaint is that he does not show any modifications except without the belt for people with knee problems. I have exercised for years but after knee surgery that took me almost a year to recover from as far as exercising, I will never in my life do a jumping jack or anything high impact. Come on Billy, have mercy and do some modifying. - posted by Trish on 12/12/2006
Bootcamp is Awesome!!!
I have heard about Billy Blanks for a long time but never did the workouts...until now. I am now a big fan of this. I have been struggling to lose weight due to changes in my metabolism so I wanted to boost my cardio. THIS WORKS. I am still in Basic Training (one of the DVDs in this series) but it is awesome. Jumping jacks, duck-walk, standing & floor abs, along with all those great kick combos & jabs. I really didn't think I could ever keep up but after 4 times, I'm now kicking higher & actually doing the combos right along w/the group. Working my way up to the Ultimate Bootcamp workout starting next week! It's a great stress release. I found myself chanting & yelling right along with the group. I rotate Bootcamp w/other intermediate workouts. By watching what I eat & doing these workouts twice a week (working up to 3x), I've lost 5 lbs & 2 inches across the front of my stomach in 2 wks. Victory! I'm sold! Go For It!! - posted by SRS - Milwaukee WI on 7/21/2006
Great workout
I have just started using Taebo. I have been exercising all my life . However, I have just gotten back on the wagon due to a difficult pregnancy where I gained some 30 lbs. Taebo is really motivating me and I'm getting back into shape fast. Thank you Billy. - posted by Simone Murray on 3/17/2006
AWESOME WORKOUT-FROM A NEWBY
I just started working out again recently and this series of Bootcamp was AMAZING!!! i don't think people who are new to exercising should be deterred. It's a challenge to be able to do more and more with Billy everytime you pop in the video. The bands are crazy hard too.. I started noticing muscle in my arms after 3 weeks... I love these videos!! - posted by LISA on 2/26/2006

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.
sample time graph
Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
sample time graph
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
