Certified instructor description: A challenging and well-cued workout taught by Billy Blanks’ daughter — Shellie (she’s understanding, caring … and already in great shape at 10 weeks post-partum). The moves are classic Tae Bo, just slowed down a little and re-sequenced into easier combinations. It’s specifically designed for new mothers, so Shellie emphasizes post-pregnancy exercises and precautions (e.g. “be careful, your joints are still soft”). But it’s not just new moms who might enjoy Shellie’s cuing and enthusiasm; this is an often-intense, no-nonsense Tae Bo workout. DVD includes an 8-minute interview with Shellie. ©2007. Tae Bo: Post-Natal Power

Great postnatal workout
I wish I found this earlier on!!! I've always done Billy's cardio and I only found this later. The workout is great as Shelly is very encouraging and motivating. Although, my youngest child is 2 I still find Shelly's post-natal workout excellent for those days where you want to be a little bit easier on yourself. Trust me you feel your Abs and tummy going in after her workout!!!! Excellent stuff for beginners after birth and great for those mommies who have had a hard day or night and want to work out on a lighter scale!! - posted by Fatima on 7/1/2010
Disappointed
I bought this DVD based on the reviews, but I have to say, this was a very easy workout! I consider myself an int/advanced exerciser, and am 10 months postpartum, so perhaps I need more of a challenge, but I still thought I would get a good workout, considering this was "Tae-bo". I do like Shelli as an instructor, and was inspired by her postpartum body, but didn't believe she returned to her great shape with this DVD. - posted by Shelley on 1/26/2010
Definitely recommend!!!!!
10/23/07 I left a review after I did this workout only a couple times and really it was too easy for my level at the time. Now, after going through my first pregnancy, I pulled this out again remembering how positive and fun Shellie's personality was, and the workout now is truly the perfect post-pregnancy workout for me. I'm surprised by how challenging it is now after having a baby. I'm hoping the standing core work helps flatten my belly and helps with an ab separation, so fingers crossed! And it's so great to be broken into segments because I can't seem to find time now for the entire hour at one time. Shellie is so positive and she really makes me feel good to workout with her, and she makes me feel a little better about my body and optimistic that I can get my core back in shape and lose the baby weight. - posted by Andelyn on 11/13/2009
great even for pregnancy
i absolutely love this video. before i was pregnant i did billy blanks, however, since i've been pregnant i've been so tired that the extreme fast pace just doesn't fit me right now. this video still gives you a great workout without completely exhausting you. i would definitely recommend this to new moms - posted by Lauren on 6/22/2009
LOVE this workout..........
and I havn't been postnatal in 12 years!! Yes,it's perfect for new moms with it's handy 10 minute segments but it's also perfect for ALL TaeBo fans who love Shellie and are looking for a gentler, lighter but still great TaeBo workout. Shellie does TaeBo justice, she's a friendly, caring instructor, a true pro, just like her father. She stays with traditional TaeBo moves but at a slower pace. YOU pick how long you workout and you choose the segments or do the entire routine for a great workout. I love Shellie and I really hope she does more future, solo TaeBo workouts. Great job,Shellie!! - posted by Judy on 5/4/2009
Love It!
This exercise dvd is wonderful! I am 52 and I love this video. I do Billy Blanks, but this is a nice alternative. I hope Shelly comes out with more exercise dvds. - posted by Linda on 10/25/2008
Nice way to ease back into shape
I bought this and 2 other dvds as motivation to get back into shape after my 2nd pregnancy. This--so far--is my favorite. It's easy enough that I can actually do it, but tough enough that I feel I'm doing something worthwhile. It does feel odd that there is a cardio section at the very end after the toning (when I'm already a little tired). Don't be fooled, there aren't really chapter selections on this dvd (though the case seems to indicate there are)...it's basically one long (one hour) workout. I also feel like it should maybe be a 45 minutes workout (an hour can be hard to do with little ones) but all in all, I really enjoy this. - posted by Alison on 8/26/2008
Shellie is amazing!
I'm going to be honest: I'm not a mom! But I bought this workout because I love Shellie and I admire her and her awesome body! This workout is great, I'm sure for new moms, but also for people just starting Tae Bo. Myself, I've been doing Tae Bo for about 3 years but this really teaches you great form and Shellie is a great instructor with great cuing and also is very inspiring and sweet. Plus, how could you not want to workout with Shellie, she had a baby 10 WEEKS before shooting and she looks better than people without a baby!! Will not disappoint! - posted by Liz on 2/14/2008
Great work out
Shelly is very upbeat and encouraging. Geared to new moms but would be a good workout for anyone. You can also mix and match the sections if you don't feel like doing the whole workout. I like doing several sections a day since I rarely have time to do an hour work out. - posted by Shana on 11/29/2007
Loved it!
This is a great work out. Really makes you feel your muscles. Very up beat and encouraging. If you're a beginner, you'll have to work into it. - posted by a fan on 11/28/2007

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
