Certified instructor description: A solid program that features two aero/tone interval styles plus the newest Tabata technique. Motivated by contestants from the 2011 TV season, you're sure to burn fat and have fun. Each instructor teaches a specific section. Anna Kournikova begins with kickbox intervals — fast-paced cardio alternated with short toning segments. Bob Harper is next. He keeps your body constantly in motion with a fluid blend of varied exercises (from classic aerobics and body sculpting to yoga and isometrics). Dolvett Quince ends the program with Tabata cardio training — 20 seconds of "give it all you've got," followed by 10 seconds of rest (repeated eight times!). It's tough, but doable ... and very effective. Requires 3 to 5 lb. dumbbells. ©2011. DVD has: Programmable chapters, Music only option, Wide screen, Close captions, Region 1.

The Biggest Loser: Calorie Knockout

I love being able to customize the workout
It is fun to have the newest "Biggest Loser" trainers lead their training segments. They all show different fitness levels & keep you motivated to workout. - posted by Constance on 4/19/2012
Like bob and dolvett
Like the bob and Dolvett workouts...Anna workout is too mechanical and not motivating so I skip that one. I like Dolvetts 20 second intervals, rest and get at it again. And Bob's is very tough. Worth the money but I will continue to skip the Anna workout--or use if for warm up and stretching. - posted by Michele on 3/24/2012
Hail Bob and Crew!
I know that there have been some strong reviews on this Video and I agreed with them until a few hours ago. My husband and I have been working out for a very long time, I have six children who work long and laborious hours, so it's hard to get them to stick with a workout plan. Anyway, my oldest son of 33 is a city bus driver, tall, lean, good looking and has never had to worry about his weight. He just started noticing a little softness to his belly, so borrowed this video from us. He came in the house to tell me that he put it in and got through the warmup and half way through Anna's program and had to quit! LOL He is inspired at the determination of the Biggest Losers and says he will work this video until he is all the way through it. I am so happy, he found a video that is inspiring! Those long bus hours can wreak havoc on your posture, so here is a kudos to Bob and the team. Give this to someone who needs a boost to get started! - posted by Teresa on 3/14/2012
BORING!!
I usually LOVE BL workouts! This one was just plain boring! Anna Kournikova is terrible! She is not motivating at all! I would not recommend this video to anyone. I returned it the next day! - posted by Lindsey on 3/8/2012
Not that bad
Ok...Anna is laughable as a trainer and Dolvette lacks charisma but Bob is great and the workout sequences are challenging. If you have done other BL cardio workouts the moves will be familiar so the lack of direction won't be an issue. This is not the best BL video( I like BL Last Chance the most) but it is still worth the buy if like the BL format. - posted by DR on 2/21/2012
wow!!!!!!!!!!! it was bad
this workout was so bad it did not even deserve one star. the trainers in this workout were a complete joke. - posted by nicki on 2/17/2012
Anna Kournikova and Dolvett Quince Really....
Anna Kournikova and Dolvett Quince I think are a really bad choice for leading a workout video and looked like fools most of the time that had no idea what they were doing and were just reading cue card. - posted by billy on 1/18/2012
Okay workout
I have been working out for almost 30 years and own and done many workout videos, I thought that this was a good workout overall, Anna was a little too much like she was reading cue cards, Dolvett was very motivating and will improve much the more videos he does. He needs to give a little more instruction but he was very motivating. Bob was the best of the three but has had a lot more experience making workout videos. I say it was worth the money. - posted by Christine on 1/14/2012
Not a cardio workout
I recently purchased Calorie Knockout Extreme Cardio for Maximum Burn. You would think with a name like that it would actually be a cardio workout, but I was very disappointed to find that it wasn't. Every workout on it involved weightlifting. Not just light cardio weights, but actual strength moves. I alternate cardio and strength training, doing cardio on one day and strength/weight lifting on the next. I don't mind some cardio on my strength days, but don't like to do strength moves on my cardio days when I let my muscles rest. I have lots and lots of strength DVD's and not nearly enough cardio DVD'S for my cardio days. The title of this DVD and the description on the packaging was very misleading. I would not have purchased it if I had known it was not a true cardio workout. I was expecting it to be an actual cardio workout, similar to the Biggest Loser Cardio Max, which I like very much. - posted by Lorie on 1/14/2012
First review
This is the first time I am writing a review. I am 61 and have been an on and off exerciser for 20 years and have about 300 dvd's. I thought this dvd was okay. I worked up a good sweat and was able to do some of the jumping. Anna's section was good, although I wish she counted down the reps. Bob's section did have the most information about what was happening which I like. The last section was a little too repetitive for me. - posted by Beverly on 12/22/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.
sample time graph
Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Music only option
X
This feature allows you to play only the music, without any cuing (after you’ve learned the movements and you just want to do the workout without listening to the instruction).
Wide screen
X
The program fully fills a wide-screen television screen. Note: These videos will display black bars at the top and bottom on a traditional 4 x 3 ratio TV screen.
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
