Time graph for The Biggest Loser: Cardio Max
Led by “The Biggest Loser” trainers, it’s a varied medley of calorie-blasting aerobic exercises. The programmable DVD lets you play any segment in any order. Or, you can choose one of the three progressively more challenging premixes (e.g. a 30-minute Level 1 program or a 50-minute level 3 workout). Bob Harper’s bootcamp segment features overhead arms and lots of full-body moves (it even includes optional dumbbells to boost intensity). Then it’s Jillian Michaels’ high-intensity, sports/athletic drills. Finally, Kim Lyons maximizes the fat-burning with non-stop kickboxing routines. You’re sure to be motivated by the trainers and by the exercisers — successful TV show contestants from seasons 3 and 4. ©2007. DVD has: 3 premixes (30 to 50-min. alternate workouts), Programmable chapters, Music only option, Region 1.

The Biggest Loser: Cardio Max

Fun Intermediate Level Workout!
I love this workout because you can mix-and-match segments. I was pretty disappointed with The Biggest Loser 2 because of the slow pace, so I really like the fast pace of Cardio Max and Bob and Jillian's segments got my heartrate up. I don't mind that the background exercisers are not in sync or on the same beat with the instructor. Just like working out in an aerobics class in the gym, not everyone is on the same beat. I find Kim's segment to be the easiest. I wish to see longer segments of Bob and Jillian in the next DVD. Fun workout! - posted by Cheryl on 5/8/2008
Who do I follow?
I have a workout DVD with Jillian Michaels and love it. So, I naturally thought this DVD would be just as great. Well, I was disappointed. I'm all for using "real people" in workout videos/DVD's...but they were hardly ever with the beat or count of the instructor and I found it screwed me up every single time. I only used this DVD three times. A big waste of money. And it also hurt my knees and I've never had a workout do that before. Waste of money in my book. - posted by Elaine on 4/25/2008
My Least Favorite Biggest Loser
I have all the old Biggest Loser videos and really like them and love watching the show. I was disappointed with this video. Although the moves get my heart rate up, it's not what I think of as pure "cardio". I don't understand the level 1-2-3 part either--I think Kim's section, which is level 3, is by far the easiest part of the video but the description says to "work up" to the other levels--like 3 should be the most advanced. I know from experience that the show stars working out in the video don't always have great form and are never in sync with each other, but this is by far the worst on those issues. I will always be a biggest loser fan, but wish I had saved my money on this one! - posted by Brenda on 4/15/2008
OH..BOY!
I hurt myself, doing this workout..and I'm still in pain..and I did this 3weeks ago! My ribs are still hurting off and on. My knee swell up very bad and I would wake up at night in pain from the swelling of my knees. This is a good workout, but you have to be careful. they are going to fast. Don't feel like you have to use the wgt, and take your time. I will not be using this Dvd again..I still love all the trainer on the Biggest loser..This one is Just not for me.. - posted by Lily on 3/19/2008
Love the show and the video
I really like this DVD. I usually workout with an elliptical machine and free weights and don't normally do "aerobics" type of workouts but let me tell you this DVD will kick your butt. The trainers are "picky" at their co-stars, but if you watch this show they are like that all the time. They are a family and when I workout I don't neccessarily want it to be perfect, because I certainly am not. The form is a little off, but who cares, if you are moving and not hurting (joint wise) you are LOSING WEIGHT which is the whole idea behind the video. The Tae Bo's and Firm DVD's are perfect as far as form and sychronizing but are BORING if you get bored easily (like me). This is at least entertaining while you workout. I get easily distracted and bored, which is why I run cross country and this video keeps my attention because you never know when they are going to crack a joke at each other. Keep an open mind and try this video. - posted by Amanda on 3/19/2008
If you like Biggest Loser, you'll like this workout
Some people are against the tone of the trainers since they poke fun at the participants, but this has always been the style on the show and I tend to like it. It makes it more like the way friends would poke fun at each other. I'm pretty advanced in fitness level and I found Bob's section was still quite challenging. I suppose folks are right about form though. I'm lucky that I already know proper form. At the same time, I like the fact that all the trainers just want you to keep moving and the red-faced participants should make normal people feel normal, unlike other workouts where participants rarely even seem tired. I found it fun, entertaining and a kick-butt workout. - posted by Jenn on 3/10/2008
great workout
I bought this recently to add to my biggest loser workout collection and this by far is the best one! It made me sweat through the entire course of it. It had 3 diff levels with level 1 being the easiest and 3 the hardest, which is awesome as you can take it at your own pace and work your way up to where you are doing all 3 in one workout!! It incorporates tons of squats and lunges which make your legs sooo sore but will be worth it!! and all the jumping around blasts the calories in minimal time!! If you want to get a good workout and really get in shape, this is a great dvd to try out! all the trainers are really encouraging and def get you to not give up and to keep with it. They give you that extra ''push'' as if they were your very own personal trainers!! - posted by Jessica on 3/6/2008
Love this video
I find the comments on how everyone is not together funny. For the first time I have found a video with people like me. Sometimes I am off cue, sometimes I can't keep my balance. Not only did this video kick my butt, but it made me laugh and feel like I was in class with real people not superfit supermodels. - posted by Beckie on 3/4/2008
Good Workout, Bad Cuing
The curing is off, and really messes me up, but I'm trying to ignore that. I have several of Kathy Smith DVD's and she does such a good job showing you proper technique and curing. But I really like Bob (I haven't done the other levels yet). It would be nice to see him showing proper form. It definetly gets my heartbeat up! - posted by Diane on 2/26/2008
wow!!!!!!
I am amazed by this workout. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser and this tape made me sweat buckets! My heartrate was up the whole time. I normally do Denise Austin tapes but after a while I didn't really feel as challanged when I did them, and this tape is just what I needed. It is different than any other tape that I've done because not everyone is doing the same thing so you basically go at your own pace. My favorite section is probably Bob's 20 minute bootcamp. I will continue to do this tape often. Oh yeah and by the way, Kim's 10 minute workout has so many lunges and squats that your thighs will burn many hours after you workout. - posted by Sarah on 2/24/2008

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
Programmable chapters
X
At the beginning of your workout, you can select the exact segments you want to play that day. The DVD will then play all those segments in the order you chose.
Music only option
X
This feature allows you to play only the music, without any cuing (after you’ve learned the movements and you just want to do the workout without listening to the instruction).
Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
