Certified instructor description: Includes a loop resistance band, an 8-inch ball and a compact body-sculpting workout (the band and ball are used to boost resistance and improve body positioning). The entire program is very fast-paced — Emily Welsh changes the exercises every eight counts (e.g. a 32-count sequence: lunges to rows to bicep curls to plié squats). The equipment is utilized in varied ways. Sometimes the ball is squeezed between your legs or held in your hands. Sometimes the band is used for abwork or back routines. And sometimes the two devices are used in combination (e.g. leaning on the ball as you do band-intensified leg exercises). ©2010. DVD has: Wide screen.

Short- Easy -Fast work out. I am 57 years old and I have been doing The Firm Videos for about 10 years. I'm hooked on The Firm. - posted by Janet on 4/7/2011
The Firm Coretoner Plus Kit
I am a huge fan of The Firm workouts. I probably have 30 of the Firm (both old and new)tapes. This particular one was fine. I would not rate it extremely high because of the length. The quality was ok. Emily is always good and she did utilize some different techniques that give my workout some variety. I will just say the workout could have been longer. Twenty minutes just is not enough. I did combine it with several other tapes and that helped. - posted by Debbie on 3/16/2011

Good ol'Firm! They are well challenged and well done as usual. I like a workout that leaves me feeling like I worked my body and this one does it as all Firm videos! - posted by Shirley on 3/10/2011
Really happy with this
I certainly don't mean to devalue anyone's opinion, but I was just so shocked that so many people thought this was frantic. I just watched the workout once, and then did it with my own loop and ball (not the ones that came with the kit), and I had zero issues with the transitions or the pace. I think this is a nice intermediate workout. My legs were dying during the static squat/biceps curl sections. There was a nice number of pushups, and a little triceps bonus after those to hit that area. There was also a decent amount of back work with the rows and overhead pull-downs. Very nice short workout that flew by! - posted by Nyx on 3/1/2011
Feeling a Little Ripped Off
I'm an Intermediate/Advanced exerciser (closer to Advanced), and I typically love the FIRM workouts, so I ignored the reviews and bought this anyway because it seems like it's popular to bash the FIRM amongst some groups. Anyway, this is the ONE workout EVER that I'm irritated I spent money on. The workout flies by (that's a good thing, and the only reason I didn't give this a one-star). However, Emily is saying through the whole thing, "Oh, this burns!" But really?? Doing bicep curls with a band versus the 15-pound dumbbell I normally use doesn't make me burn. I didn't have a problem keeping up with the speed of the workout, I just didn't find it challenging at all. I didn't feel anything in my abs or legs. I'm not even sure it would be a good add-on to any other workout. I have seriously never been so disappointed in a workout from The FIRM before. And again, let me state, I am an avid FIRM supporter! - posted by Mindy on 2/16/2011
Not so good
I have been using the Firms new workout system, The Firm Express off and on since Dec 2010. I am used to the faster workouts now thanks to the new system. However, I don't like this workout. I am becoming less and less a fan of Emily- she just is a frantic mess in all of the new workouts. The workout is quick and total body and the reps are lower. It would make a great add on if it didn't seem to rushed. Even her Firm Express workouts (3 in total) seem frantic compared to other cycles in the new workouts. It's Emily. If it were any other Firm Instructor, this DVD would have been perfect. The equipment is good, but the instructor is what makes this a non-worthy purchase. If you like Ms. Emily's instruction style, go for it. But I find her over the top, so much so, I don't want to use this workout- I returned it. - posted by Jami on 2/9/2011
Coretoner Kit
It's a great add on to any routine, or if you prefer a short ab workout. I usually add it on to one of my 45 minute routines. I find there is very little attention given to ab/core work. It helps to build those muscles so you stand taller, and look leaner.. - posted by Joni on 2/3/2011
I LOVE IT!!
I can't believe this workout only has two stars!! I love it! No it's not real long but for the time it really gives you a workout. I did break a sweat and by the end of the day I felt soreness in my legs, butt, and back. I do this in addition with other workouts and I believe it really works!! - posted by Jennifer on 2/1/2011
It's fast and it works
I understand why some reviewers think it moves too quickly. Emily keeps it moving and there's not much time to transition and move the bands off your feet, but it's effective. Having tried it once so far, I've accepted the challenge to keep up with her. I think it'll get better each time. I feel it right where the fat is, so I know it's working. - posted by Brenda on 1/20/2011
LOL
My neighbor has this workout and found it ridiculous - she asked me to try it to see what I thought. My verdict: beyond ridiculous. If I could I would give this workout zero stars. - posted by Susan W. on 1/18/2011

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
