Certified instructor description: A solid aero/tone interval program expertly cued by Allie DelRio. You get alternating segments of fat-burning cardio and multi-muscle body-sculpting. Each five-minute segment includes an exceptionally varied selection of moves, styles and techniques. The aerobic elements range from dance and kickbox to calisthenics and sports (always carefully “choreographed” into smooth-flowing sequences). The toning exercises maximize time-efficiency by working several body areas at once (e.g. a lower-body lunge combined with an upper-body tricep press). Note: DVD previously released in the Firm’s “TransFirmation” kit. Requires 3 to 10 lb. dumbbells. ©2007. DVD has: 1 premix (35 min. alternate workout), Spanish option.

The Firm: Hard Core Fusion

I liked this one alot!
Good cardio, not overly complicated and the pace is fast enough to keep your heart rate up. Allie is one of the best ones the Firm has and her workouts always keep me interested and putting out a good effort! This is a great mix of cardio and strength. This is a DVD that will be at the top of my rotation for awhile I think. - posted by sandra on 2/2/2012
Pretty fun!
I just completed the Hard Core Fusion workout for the second time and I just wanted to say that I am really pleased with it! I am not used to the Firm workouts at all--I think this was only the second Firm DVD I have ever tried. So I guess if you are not used to the Firm moves (like I was) this workout can be a little hard to get used to the first time. However, the second time around this workout is way easier to follow! I recommend maybe watching the cardio and warm-up sections in advance to sort of get a hold on what the moves are--I found this to be really helpful. This DVD is a really great and fun workout! The instructor is very friendly without being overly perky and I was happy to listen to her cue the moves well. The hour went by pretty quickly for me--I like that the strength and cardio sections are in five minute intervals, so there is always something new coming up. - posted by Holly on 11/8/2011
Allie never disappoints
I've been doing Firm videos for over 10yrs. and Allie is by far my favorite instructor- great cuing, attention to form, "slow but controlled" moves. This DVD is her best imo-not too fast, not too slow; perfect cuing; attention to form; the cardio segments are fun; she's motivating in a non-hyper way. It's not "easy" but I could follow all the moves the 1st time and didn't keep looking at the clock- 55min. went by quickly and I felt great. - posted by Andrea on 10/13/2011
Great video - makes the blood pump.
As an experienced exerciser, I seem to always come back to the Firm. Allie is great with cueing. The video is an excellent work out, easy to follow if you are accustomed to the Firm style. Good for experienced video exercisers, but if you have little experience with the Firm, just watch it a few times and take it slowly. Worth the money. - posted by Ann on 5/20/2011
LOVE this one still!
I have had this for several years now and I still keep coming back to it and love it every time. Allie is very motivating, which makes the video enjoyable throughout. - posted by Fran on 4/18/2011
Great job Allie
Allie was my introduction to The Firm in 2004, so I guess I am a bit partial. That being said, I loved this one and sweated buckets! - posted by Jennalicia on 2/28/2011
BEST ALLIE YET
I love this workout. I had been doing the Firm since 2003 but a couple of years ago decided I needed more of a challenge and started doing Cathe workouts. All I did was gain 20 pounds and injure myself. I decided to give the Firm pinks a shot. I am in LOVE with most all of them that I have tried! The weights and lighter, the movements are faster, but I love the whole body concept and am really seeing a huge difference in my body, especially my core. I had always liked Allie's workouts, not loved them, but this one I LOVE. It is so thorough and FUN. The first time I did it I have to admit I cussed her out a little at the end for whipping my butt because I was surprised at how completely she did it! Second time I did it was sheer joy. I have burned about 470 calories each time (weigh 142) and I like to see numbers like that as well as feel the burn after working out. - posted by Andrea on 2/25/2011
HARD CORE FUN

Great Wprkout
I have been working out using the Firm exercises when they were only on VHS. I have many workout tapes but this by far is the best for me. It has been proven that cardio along with body toning improves your health and burns fat faster. I was able to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol and drop my dress size from a 12 to a 10 by exercising with the Hard Core Fusion. I also introduced this DVD to encourage some of my church members to exercise. After working out for a couple of months they have ordered their own DVD's . - posted by Valerie on 11/16/2010
Great Total-Body Workout!
As an avid athlete and "advanced-level" aerobics exerciser, I love this workout. It gets the heart pumping, the muscles engaged, and is quite the effective TOTAL BODY workout in 55 minutes. As a "FIRM believer" for over 8 years, I love Ali's direction and motivation in this particular workout. HIGHLY recommended! - posted by Sara on 8/12/2010

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Premixes
X
These are alternate workouts created by the manufacturer. They use the same content as the main program (i.e. the very same video footage). But the sections are re-edited into pre-made alternative workouts that you select from a menu. These are often condensed versions of the main workout.
Spanish option
X
In addition to English, you can choose to hear the program in Spanish.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
