Time graph for The Firm: Ultimate Fat-Burning Collection
Four full-length aero/tone workouts on one DVD. They all feature a varied mix of effective, time-efficient exercises (classic “The Firm” — basic cardio combined with multi-muscle dumbbell toning). “Pump, Jump & Jab” incorporates kickbox-style jabs, punches and kicks. “Cardio Sculpt Fusion” is a little easier; it includes balance, flexibility and yoga moves. “Cardio Overdrive” is fast paced with sports and Latin dance elements. “Burn & Shape” features a non-stop medley of subtle intensity and tempo variations. Requires two sets of dumbbells (e.g. 3 and 5 lb.). ©2009. Previously released as individual DVDs in 2007 and 2008. DVD has: Region 1.

The Firm: Ultimate Fat-Burning Collection

Great Workouts in Less Time!!
I love these workouts!! I use them on my short workout days where I have less then an hour. The instructors are likeable pack a good workout into the 40+ minutes. The first time through, the moves can be a bit tricky; but by the second and third you'll have 'em down. - posted by Laurie on 11/17/2009
Not as promised
The express options on the CD do not exist. Emily Walsh does not cue very well and just goes into the next move with you scrambling to catch up and by the time you do , she is on to another move. I guess she assumes you know the Firm routines as they all seem to be almost identical in different DVDs. (I have 2 others with different person and they could be twins) Not impressed. - posted by Helen on 10/23/2009
Great Workout but false advertising?
I love Firm workouts. i have been doing them since the early 90's. This one contains four great workouts and is a great value. My only beef is that the packaging claimed that there were "express options' and none exist on this DVD. Also, three out of the four workouts are not as long as they claim to be(including the credits). - posted by Sue on 10/15/2009
Not to easy to follow
I never tried any of the firm Dvd's but this is hard to follow. I can't do high impact so I never tried the regular aerobics and these workouts are the classical step aerobic class. Yes, you sweat but I do not recommend if you don't have the coordination. - posted by Lila on 9/26/2009
Five Stars for Value!
This set of 4 workouts is a FANTASTIC deal, IMO. Although I am not a fan of the Burn and Shape workout, each of the other 3 workouts is a keeper. Cardio Overdrive is primarily cardio, with some light 4-limb AWT, and it is one of my favourite Firm cardios, and one of the best "Pink" Firm DVD's to be released IMO. Pump Jump & Jab is heavier on the 4-limb, lighter on the pure cardio, but has some great kickboxing intervals and some memorable AWT. Cardio Sculpt Fusion is a gem -- lighter cardio and AWT intervals, interspersed with lots of stretching -- perfect for active rest days or as an add on after a sculpt workout. Burn and Shape, as I mentioned, is not one of my faves (I find the cardio frenetic and almost impossible to follow the first time), but is effective in that it hits every major muscle group in 40 minutes. Although only one of the workouts was IMO a "five-star" workout (Cardio Overdrive), 2 of the workouts are definitely "good", and the fourth is tolerable. But what a great value, given the variety within this set and given the price. Worth the $$$! - posted by Sam on 9/13/2009
great workouts
this is a collection of kick punch and crunch, total body lite, burn and shape and cardio overdrive. I have all except for the punch and crunch and really like them. total body lite is great for low key days and the others are really good workouts. this is a must have if you're a firm fan. - posted by jenn on 8/25/2009

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Region 1
X
This DVD is designed for US and Canadian DVD players. It will NOT play in most foreign country players.
Level
X
Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.

Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).

Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.

Aerobics impact
X
Lower Impact: Both feet never leave the ground at the same time. This minimizes stress on your knees.

Higher Impact: Includes movements like jumps, hops and skips. Very high-impact is called plyometrics.

Mixed Impact: This alternates or combines the above styles.

Aerobics choreography
X
Basic: The easiest to follow. It ranges from simple walking-style marches to sports and athletic movements.

Complex: More intricate combinations and patterns. They're ideal for people who like to dance.

Moderate: More interesting than Basic, less dancy than Complex.

Toning emphasis
X
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.

Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

Total body: Tones all three of the above muscle groups.

Floor aerobics & toning
X
Definition: Includes two workout activities. The aerobics segments are fast-paced standing movements like marching, dancing and jumping. These segments require no equipment. The toning sections are slow, controlled movements working against a resistance. These may include Pilates and weight training.

Benefits: The combination of both activities provides a balanced workout. The aerobics burns calories, strengthens your heart and increases stamina. The toning builds lean muscles, increases your metabolism and makes everyday activities easier.
