Certified instructor description: A super-fast-paced jazz, hip hop and ballet fat-burner. It has no verbal or hand cuing — a format that’s specifically intended to keep you focused on the moves and music. Sure, it’s a mental and physical challenge. But Tracy makes it doable — for experienced dancers — with a separate instructional program. The workout has seven complete combos. The steps range from grapevines and chassés to “leap ball changes” and “turned out kicks” (combinations that often incorporate a variety of interesting arm patterns). Many moves are further intensified with a twist, hop or spin (e.g. four complete rotations in one dance). Foot-movin’, pop music soundtrack. Requires lots of floor space; not recommended for carpeted surfaces. Note: The DVD has two nearly identical workouts, one filmed from the front, one from the back. ©2010. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Tracy Anderson's Dance Cardio II

Really??
Don't waste your time and money on this DVD. I question whether the instructor is certified by ACSM, ACE, or AFAA organizations, which are the basics in order to teach an effective class. This DVD is all about her and not you the participant. With my past yrs of dance and group exercise experience, I can't understand why people throw these kind of DVDS out here at the public, who are unaware and not able to review a clip with an educated eye! - posted by Victoria on 5/5/2013
Difficult choreography but really FUN
This is not easy to learn but is such a fun change from my normal workouts. Do NOT expect to get this right away. Tracy does break down the combos with vocal instruction -- but ONLY in the instructional portion of the DVD. During the actual workout, you are expected to do the dance from memory. I suggest learning one section at a time and really committing it to memory before moving on. NO, you will NOT get a great workout when you first start -- you will be learning and repeating until you get it. I add a section at the end of a regular workout -- eventually I will be able to do the whole thing. I do recommend this DVD as it provides a mental challenge and really requires you to focus and "be in the moment" instead of just going through the motions. - posted by Elaine on 4/19/2013
Really difficult to follow
I found this workout strange. Dance cardio but hard to learn and follow, almost no cueing...I give up! don't like these kinds of workouts. No explanation, no cueing.... - posted by Tania on 4/16/2013
Complex but fun!
I really enjoy this workout. It is complex, so it takes some patience to learn. I would also not try this one as your first Tracy Anderson dvd - it's helpful if you've learned her style from earlier dvds. If you don't catch onto choreography rather easily, I would pass on this dvd. If you really enjoy complex choreography and a steady state routine, this one is great. I like that there's a separate instructional section because it's not so fun to have to go through the learning of a routine every time you do a dvd even after you've already learned the routine. Also, separating the dance and instructional parts makes this more fun and more aerobically intense. I would suggest doing the routine from the front. When done from the back, there are several editing problems. This dvd is very well chaptered (unlike her previous dance cardio dvd). The music is more club/techno than pop (like her previous dvd). I like both. I wish she would put out another dvd like this one! - posted by Ali on 2/12/2013
Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.

Chapter menus

You can play only the individual workout segments you want by picking them off a chapter menu (one at a time).
