Certified instructor description: Two gently flowing workouts designed to give you a lean, strong, dancers’ body. The programs are almost identical. One workout is done with two clear plastic chairs so you can easily see the motions. It’s taught solo by Trudie’s trainer, James D’Silva. The other program has Trudie and James; it’s performed with a ballet barre. Done barefoot, both workouts feature true ballet-style moves and terminology (e.g. pliés, porte de bras, relevés, tendus and fondus). The exercises are elegant and empowering; some require lots of flexibility. DVD also has a 14-minute ballet tutorial. ©2010. DVD has:
Wide screen.

Trudie Styler's Sculpt & Tone Ballet |
    Solid, graceful workout |
| I am 52 and flexible but have neglected strength training for a few years. While this is not categorized as a strength training program, I've always had success with ballet-type exercises and this DVD delivers. I prefer more meditative exercising routines where grace and mental focus are required. The results with this DVD are increased flexibility, strength for balance and muscle definition, and empowering femininity. I wonder, though, why the 2 routines are so similar. Maybe one routine could focus more on upper or lower body exercises so you really feel like you're getting separate routines. Anyway, I recommend this to anyone who wants to feel uplifted, strong and feminine. - posted by Meredith on 7/7/2011 |

    Beautiful! |
| What a beautiful way to start the day. I've used this for a couple weeks, moving from the tutorial to the James-only version using clear chairs to learn the moves, then finally to the version with Trudie Styler. (The two workouts are the same, except for one leg extension in the Trudie version.) This workout leaves me feeling invigorated and relaxed at the same time. I feel as stretched and open as with a power yoga workout. I like this workout so much I feel a little guilty doing it when I think I "should" be doing weight-training! - posted by Lilly on 5/2/2010 |
