Certified instructor description: A unique fusion of traditional power yoga and hardcore body sculpting. Yoga purists beware — the poses may be familiar, but the goals, sequencing and “bad ass” attitude are pure Jillian Michaels. For example, Jillian knows that a classic yoga chair pose is similar to a squat. So, she has you “rep it out” — 15 full-range-of-motion repetitions that end with an isometric hold. That technique is repeated throughout the entire workout. So, while there are lots of genuine yoga elements, Jillian’s overall goal is muscle endurance (not “peaceful mind/body bliss”). The first workout is easier; the second has some tough balance and flexibility moves (modifications are shown). ©2010. DVD has: Spanish option, Close captions, Region 1.

Jillian Michaels' Yoga Meltdown

Gave us both back pain
My wife pulled a low back muscle doing this video and a week later I felt a bit of a pinch in my back too. We're actually quite fit people (she 120 lbs and me 165 lbs). This video is just dangerous, heed the warnings and stay away! - posted by Alex on 1/26/2012
Yoga Meltdown!
I love this video. I have had a hard time getting into Yoga as I do not feel as though I am getting a great workout in. This is fantastic! I really find that I am challenged and sore the following day from all the great moves. I would recommend this to a beginner as well as an intermediate person. - posted by Sara on 1/26/2012
Love this!
I really like this workout and am surprised to see the negative reviews. It's definitely not traditional yoga, but still uses yoga poses to work your entire body. I also work up a sweat, which is always a plus for me. I'm a runner and consider myself to be intermediate to advanced on cardio and intermediate on strength, to give you and idea on level. I still can't do all the moves in the second workout, so I stick to the first because it is awesome! - posted by Jen on 1/11/2012
Yoga Meltdown, dissapointing
I absolutely love Jillian's 30 day Shred video and I wanted something else from her that was in the 30 minute range. But I have to agree with the other reviews, this is just not a good video. I knew that was not going to be a traditional yoga video when I purchased it. I expected it to be fast paced with some yoga moves. But Jillian has bad form, and she repeatedly tells you to seal the Mountain pose which is just so wrong. Additionally she does not do the flow poses correctly. I knew it was a risk when I purchased this video but I had high hopes that it would still be a favorite of mine. Your arms will feel the effects of holding the plank poses. - posted by Stacey on 1/5/2012
melted down
The video arrived on time and in perfect condition. I; however, am not. Boy I thought yoga was supposed to be relaxing. I should have known better than to mess with Jillian. She kicked my butt first round. - posted by Tracy on 12/28/2011
not a huge fan
I tried this video and was not a fan. I could not see the tv in half the poses so I turned it off very frustrated. I do enjoy Jillian Michaels, and use another of her videos religiously, but this one just sits on my shelf. maybe if I go back to it when I get bored of her others I will feel differently, but for now, I was not impressed. - posted by Tina on 11/7/2011
Awesome Video!
I never liked yoga before but this video changed my mind. it's such a great workout and includes cardio as well as strength - posted by Holly on 9/23/2011
Good workout that really works your arms!
I've been doing this video (though only level one) once or twice a week over the past 5 months and love it! I should mention I've been doing it (modified) while pregnant and am still able to do it today, 8 and 1/2 weeks pregnant. That's not to say it isn't challenging (it is an arm killer!), but it isn't jarring. I treat it as my strength workout, but I've always liked the mind-body-breath involved in yoga that can help take your mind off the challenge. Jillian does a good job in this video and is really likeable and encouraging (some of her videos have her being kind of a bully, not this one). I credit this video (along with SELF Bikini Ready fast, the only other video I've been doing) with getting my arms toned: a coworker this week said my arms look better now than before pregnancy, so this DVD is effective! - posted by Kelsey on 9/11/2011
My first Yoga Video
I really liked this video because Jillian's approach was an everyday woman's approach to yoga. She did a great job of leading us through the poses and encouraging us to do our best. I never thought I could do yoga, and this video proved me wrong. Jillian is "no nonsense" but also was respectful of the yoga terms and very complimentary of her yoga partners on the video. Loved it! Thanks Collage Video for making it so easy for me to stay in shape. - posted by MeLinda on 8/18/2011
This video makes me love yoga
I'm a Jillian workout movie follower and I was a little skeptical to try her Yoga Meltdown. It hasn't worked for me in the past but I'm glad I did! This video is so much fun it makes me want to learn more about yoga! I highly recommend this video if people don't like the fast pace workouts. This video is fun and gives the satisfying feeling of a workout without the strain and stress. - posted by Lynne on 8/15/2011
