Time graph for Winsor Pilates Abs Sculpting
A very time-efficient video carefully designed to shape and tone your abs. Mari Winsor doesn’t waste a minute or a motion; this workout is purposeful, well-taught and very body-part targeted. The program uses classic core-conditioning exercises specially selected to tone every abdominal muscle (e.g. Pilates “twists” particularly work your obliques). ©2002. Winsor Pilates Abs Sculpting

very effective workout
This workout doesn't throw you around like most ab videos. The moves are precise and work deeply, so the short video length is appropriate. I have mild back issues and zero flexibility. The modifications work for me. I especially like Mari's cuing--just enough but not too much. - posted by Amber on 7/10/2007

short but sweet
Like the last reviewer, I have this one and the Buns & Thighs workout and alternate between them. I disagree with some of the other reviews -- this seems fine for a beginner's level, my very inflexible fiance started it with me and he's able to follow along fine, though he's never done Pilates. I find it a relaxing workout at a good level between medium and hard (there is one point in the middle where I always think I need to stop, but she slows down after that). I think Mari Winsor's cuing techniques are fine and I like how she encourages you throughout the workout. She does say the name of the exercise before she describes how to do it, but I think that's so you can begin doing it immediately once you've done the tape a few times and recognize them by name. - posted by Ellie on 3/25/2007
quick and effective
I have had this video along with the bun and thighs one. It's quick enough so, I can do when my 2 year old naps that I have enough time to get other things done before she wakes up. I alternate this with the bun's and thighs and do cardio or ashantga yoga in the mornings. Can't believe its not a staff favorite!!!!!! - posted by Kris on 3/23/2007
NOT for beginners
I bought this dvd after seeing it labeled as a Beginner workout...but trust me, it is NOT for beginners. You must already have pretty strong abs and be very, very flexible to do this workout. Total waste for someone at my lever...I'm very disappointed. - posted by on 1/29/2007
Yes, it works
This is the first pilates dvd that I have ever owned, so I don't have anything to compare it with. I purchased it based on my friend's advice. My abs were so flabby and my stomach was so big that people would ask if I was pregnant again. I purchased the copy along with the buns and thighs, upper body workout, basics and advanced slimming.I have not done any type of exercise since I had my baby two years ago and so I really struggled through the tape the first time. But I was consistent, aimed for three times a week, and five weeks later I have much flatter and stronger abs than I did before. I also dropped from a size 12 to 8 much to my surprise because I thought it would take a long time to see results. I am still working at it and plan to drop to my prepregnancy size.Combine this with a good cardio workout and healthy eating, and you WILL see results. - posted by Newbee to exercising on 10/18/2006
Great workout!
After a month of doing traditional ab workouts with Cathe, I found this forgotten video in the bottom of my drawer and decided to give it a try. Wow! 2 days later I can still feel the burn. Works your ab muscles in a different, deeper way. I will definately add this video to my rotation! - posted by Grace on 10/17/2006
Excellent workout!
I was very sceptical about trying any of the Winsor Pilates dvds since I had heard a lot of not so good (to put it nicely) reviews of her workouts. This dvd is fantastic! I really feel and notice a difference! I totally recommend this and other Winsor Pilates dvds! - posted by Rebecca on 7/2/2006
This is not quite for beginners but excellent!
This workout was really challenging, I felt my abs a few days after it's probably the best ab workout I've tried since I felt my ab muscles from every side and inside out, so I would say its not for beginners. - posted by yoni on 12/6/2005
Wonderful Result
I've been doing winsor pilates ab sculpting everyday for a week now. Lo and behold, i'm already seeing definition in my abs. Keeps me inspired to continue this workout. - posted by Jing on 6/15/2005

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
