Winsor Pilates Upper Body Sculpting

Less Than Impressed
I have every single Winsor Pilates video there is; I love them, but believe me, this is by far the worst one. I don't do heavy weights, but there is so little benefit to this, there just isn't any point in doing it. Recently though I did try it with 3 1b. weights, and I felt it a little more. But I wouldn't bother with this one folks. - posted by Stacey on 1/18/2008
love this
I love this workout. By using 3-5 lb weights throughout, it really gives a great burn like the armwork in Squeeze, Tae Bo Extreme etc...If you're looking for a heavy weight workout with a goal of bulk, this is not for you. However, this dvd has given me sleek fit strong arms and upper body without the bulk I used to get from Cathe workouts. Seems with Mari, you either love her or hate her - I'm a big fan thanks to the results I get from her workouts. - posted by on 8/11/2007
One of the poorest upper body workouts I've done
This is definitely one of my least favorite upper body workouts; I own many of the Winsor series as well as Tamilee Webb and Leslie Sansone. I also found many of the movements to be quite awkward.. Towards the end of the DVD she does countless bicep curls at different angles. The biceps are normally the easiest to train, I cant understand why she wasted so much time on them. There are much better DVDs for upper body strength training. I recommend Leslie Sansones Shortcuts Upper Body or Tamilee Webbbs I Want Those Arms. - posted by Donna on 7/22/2007

Great tape
I don't know how people can't atleast feel results! Everytime after I do this workout, I feel my arms lenthen and tone up! I am a dancer, so the large biceps muscles sported by other instructors does NOT attract me to try their tapes! Mari's tape slims, builds, defines, and lenthens, as I've said, your muscles. I love it! It's absolutely wonderful! You might try doing it every day for a while to get some serious toning! But a caution to beginners: this tape works your joints, so if you are not used to working your joints, go sllloowwllyy at first! You could seriously injure yourself! Other than that, this is a wonderful tape! :D - posted by mia on 1/21/2004
Tried this for about 1 month!
I have been using this DVD for about a month and I haven't quite seen or felt any results yet. When you do the workout you feel your muscles working but once you complete it, you don't feel any remnants of the exercises. It's as if you didn't workout at all because you don't feel the normal strain you are supposed to feel after a good workout. Also, Mari talks too much through the whole thing and introduces every new pose. It's good when you're a beginner but once you've played the DVD for the third time, it gets really annoying. My take- get it, learn the moves, then do it on your own! - posted by New Yorker on 9/4/2003
Don't waste your money on this one...
There are plenty other upper body workouts that are simpler to use. This workout seemed very awkward to me, trying to keep my body in one position while working my arms, I felt I was concentrating too much on not letting go of my "powerhouse" and making sure I breathed properly and didn't concentrate enough on my upper body workout. It was very frustrating. I do love the Winsor Pilates Buns and Thighs and get great results from that, I'm just going to have to find another upper body work out. - posted by Lesley on 7/24/2003
Not Impressed
I was not impressed with this tape at all. Although you can modify some of the moves, overall, you need a certain level of flexibility to perform the moves and it's definitely not a good workout if you're tight because you'll be limited in your full range of motion. It's boring. In the future, I would like to see her do more for the chest, shoulders and back. I am open to trying some of her other tapes. Next time, immediately after my aerobic routine, I'll do a full stretch before attempting this tape again. If that doesn't work, this one will have a permanent spot on the shelf. - posted by Cheryl Riley on 6/20/2003
Good work out!
I purchased the set a couple weeks ago. This was the first time I tried the upper body workout. You can really feel the burn in your upper arms and shoulders. Some of the stretches are a little hard but all in all this tape gives you a good workout in a short time. - posted by Brenda on 4/24/2003
I Can't Like It
I really wanted to like this workout, as I love all the others in the series, and I thought this would incorporate nicely with my Buns&Thighs and Abs day in my rotation. I know I said below that I'd give it a couple months, but I just lost patience 'cause for me it was not time efficient, I found it boring and as we've already established I hate the way my arms look and I want RESULTS! I've moved on to Tamilee Webb's I Want Those Arms, which fits the bill for me. Sorry Mari. Love your Advanced, Accellerated, Buns & Thighs, and Abs, though! - posted by Peggy on 4/8/2003

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
