Time graph for Yoga Zone's Conditioning & Stress Release
From his nationally-acclaimed New York studios, Alan Finger clearly displays his 30 years of yoga teaching experience in this very “approachable” video. Alan always just seems to know what you’re feeling and doing during each pose (so his soft voice can gently guide you from there to the proper form). No area of tightness will escape Alan’s well-designed program. Starting with the neck and working down, you’ll search out and release all the tension in your body. You get the mind/body connection in a straight-forward manner (e.g. “now make an echo-y sound in your mouth”). Has modifications including “more flexible” and “less flexible” alternatives. Quiet music. ©1998. DVD has: Chapter menus.

Yoga Zone's Conditioning & Stress Release

Slow, Easy, Relaxing, Long
I found this to be very similar to Yoga Zone's Flexibility and Tone Video. They're both inside and did practically the same poses throughout with only a little bit of variation. They are both very relaxing and the poses are held still (not flowing). It almost made me fall asleep. Besides, the stretching is more effective when done with heat in the body as a flowing vinyasa yoga would do. But this is great for when you're really wanting to veg out on slow (yet cold) stretches. They're both very easy. Alan Finger's cuing and explanations are insightful and knowledgeable but wastes time explaining before guiding you into several poses. - posted by Cher on 1/29/2010
Great video
This is one of my favorites. Very relaxing, and Alan's voice is very soothing. This is one of those videos I use when I need to relax and I always feel so much better when I'm done. - posted by Joyce on 11/23/2008
incredible!!!
I am on the go constantly sooo when I first tried the video, I found it a bit slow. I decided to stick with it anyway and now I am hooked!!! It's really wonderful. I feel so relaxed energized and was amazed at how not feeling sore feels. I was never a yoga fan until this. - posted by Sonia on 10/25/2008
I have loved this video for years!
I have owned this dvd for about 5 years, and I go back to it over and over. It is a good, thorough yoga workout and based on solid yoga practice. Not a fast program, but it works every muscle and makes me feel a little sore the next day every time I use it! The relaxation/meditation at the end is heavenly. - posted by Heather on 6/4/2008
Relaxing and Great for Uncoordinated
I highly recommend this dvd. I never liked yoga or pilates because I'm not coordinated and just not limber enough to do it. I bought this because of the review that said how relaxing it is and how true. I sit all day in an office. I have back and neck stiffness. If I know I'm so stressed and probably won't be able to sleep, I do this dvd and it really works. The instructor is not annoying and even though I'm a beginner, it's not too basic. You won't get tired of it and it really relaxes your muscles so you can sleep. - posted by Linda on 5/9/2008
Pretty good
I really enjoyed this video. You really do need to watch it first so you get an idea of what to do. I like the instructer his voice is soothing. This is my favorite Yoga video! - posted by Cayla on 11/21/2007
Still Loving it!
I didn't realize I had already written a review (Oct 2006), but I did this last night after awhile of not doing it, and I felt so much better! I really needed the relaxation element of it, and it really calmed my mind down. I had been feeling very stressed or kind of "wired" and wasn't really aware that was the problem until a few minutes into this workout. It almost immediately began calming my mind and my body at the same time. This and Alan's other yoga workouts are going back into my weekly rotation! Just a side note, as someone who has ALOT of workout videos/dvds, I usually shy away from workouts that are older, but I honestly don't notice the fact that this was filmed 9 or 10 years ago. The way it is made is very good, and it seems timeless. It's wonderful! - posted by Andrea on 8/2/2007

Love it!
I've had this workout for 6 years, and still love it, and still turn to it for a great stretching/yoga program to release tight muscles (especially in the neck and hamstrings for me). It's great! I have all 5 of Alan Finger's yoga workouts offered by Collage and they are all excellent. By the way - I had all in video format, but got 3 of them on DVD last year. I gave those videos to a friend. They are all worth it because they never go out of style, in my opinion! - posted by Andrea on 10/7/2006
Love love love this video!!
I build up alot of stress & anxiety through out my day and when I do this video the stress just melts away. You can literally feel a HUGE difference within the first 10 minutes of doing the video. It makes you feel so calm and relaxed. I also like the instructor...he is very soothing. Would highly recommend. - posted by on 6/7/2005
I'd like more yoga videos like this
This is, I think, the first yoga video I ever did besides occasionally following Yoga Zone moves partway through on tv. The more yoga tapes I purchased and the further into fitness I delved, the less I reached for it until just recently. I got so wrapped up in rotations and accomplishing something in each of my video exercise sessions that this one just didn't fit in, especially since it isn't Ashtanga. Well, this is MY kind of yoga because I am able to easily link movement to breathe, I'm in the moment with no straining or craving and afterwards I feel like I've been on a vacation. I'd like to find more non-power tapes similar to this. - posted by Joanne124 on 4/11/2005

Reading a Time Graph
X
Each workout shows a time graph of the workout sequence, from beginning to end. For example, this workout starts with a 10-minute warm-up and ends with a 10-minute stretch. In between, you'll do aerobics, then toning, then a cooldown.

Segments that include both aerobics & toning
Some workouts combine aerobics and toning. If the aerobics and toning are done at the same time, you'll see a "blended" graph. If the aerobics and toning are done in short, alternating intervals, you'll see an "interval" graph.
