Qualifications: Certified ACE Group Fitness Leader and a Guild Certified Pilates Instructor. B.S. degree in Cardiovascular Health and Exercise.
Personal History: Growing up in a large family of athletes, I learned how sports and fitness were a metaphor for life. They taught me sportsmanship, self-discipline, confidence and commitment. I fell in love with movement probably while I was still in the womb and have been teaching fitness for 20 years. The Pilates Method is my most recent passion. I am married to my best friend and we anticipate starting a family soon.
Workout Philosophy: Work out the way you want to; live life with passion, compassion, and mindfulness for the simple joy of moving. Approach each workout as a chance to get right with yourself - to recharge and restore mind, body, and spirit.
Sucess Story: After Kim's third child, she told me her body needed something different and that she didn't feel good doing her same workout routine of step, spinning, and weight training. Something was missing. She started taking my classes, which focus on posture, breathing, and technique. Instead of pushing harder and harder, Kim learned that less is more. She learned that her body (and mind) responded kindly to a variety of well-executed movements, instead of needless repetitions. After 3 months, Kim's family and friends were impressed with the improvement in her posture and the spring in her step and she was thrilled to get back into her old jeans.
