Qualifications: Certified by ACE and AFAA. Also, a 'Firm Certified' Master Instructor.
Personal History: I grew up as a dancer, using my mother's Firm videos in our living room when I had time to stay in shape. I never liked 'aerobics' because, as a dancer, it seemed silly. But The Firm was different; working out with weights made me feel empowered. Once I was in college, I attended classes at the Studio and in graduate school, then auditioned and trained to be an Instructor. That was 1996. I have been teaching ever since. Finally, in 2002, I left my job as a Spanish teacher (and all the fun perks, like student trips to Spain!) to become The FIRM Instructor Trainer.
Workout Philosophy: Exercise is my stress reliever, my confidence booster, my reward. It's a great time to educate, interact, and have fun. Forget about vanity; being active changes your life in such positive ways that it's addictive!
Sucess Story: Alison came to me at 300 pounds. Through regular sessions here at The Firm Studio and a healthy diet, she lost 75 pounds in about 9 months. She was a student of drama at the university and my real joy in working with her came when I attended a play in which she starred. She and her parents thanked me for the help I had given her and she told me that she would never have been able to do the role - a very active one - had she not been in such good shape from working out with me.
