Martial arts legend David Carradine (TV’s Kung Fu, Kill Bill) hosts and narrates this dynamic program where you will build muscle, increase flexibility and develop “functional strength,” all while increasing internal chi flow throughout the body. The movements of this program are very simple and easy to learn. However, if you follow the narration and apply dynamic tension, spirit and breathing, you will get a very thorough and intense workout. You can take it as far and deep as you want to.
The Shaolin Temple of northern China is credited to be the birthplace of Chinese Martial Arts. A wide variety of Martial Art styles formulated from the temple including the “Hung” style. The Hung style is based upon the movements of the crane and the tiger. It is famous for building extraordinary strength and power. While Tai Chi develops chi (internal energy) through breathing, mind intent, postures and relaxed movement, Hung style develops chi through breathing, mind intent, stances and dynamic tension. The on-screen instructors, Donald Hamby and Mike Marshall, have both taught Kung Fu for over 25 years.
