Yoga for Belly, Butt, and Thighs provides a great value with four fast and targeted practices led by a gifted instructor:

Belly: This unique core work series will help you define your abs. The majority of the practice is on the floor and she encourages you to really deepen connection with the belly through proper alignment. Seasoned yogis will appreciate Chrissy’s different take on Triangle pose to build strength in the core. All layers of your abdominal muscles will feel worked out and toned in this practice. 

Butt: Chrissy uses several traditional yoga poses in this sequence and then invites you to lift up one leg to really tone your glutes. She riffs about Fierce Pose (“This is why they call it Fierce Pose!”) and includes a fun transition from Fierce Pose to Warrior III, a standing balance pose, to really target your tush. Her variation on Side Angle Pose is wonderful to really bring your focus to your booty.

Thighs: The moderate pace of each of these workouts is not too fast and not too slow. Chrissy advises you to go slow and create resistance. She says “when we go slow we build strength.” This is certainly true. My thighs felt stronger and fully worked out after this short practice. Chrissy instructs you to move your arms in different positions while holding a leg-strengthening standing pose for several breaths. Her innovative hamstring strengtheners and fun transitions that connect poses make this yoga practice interesting, so that you forget you are getting a great thigh workout.

Bonus Workout- Complete Core: Chrissy spends a lot of time setting up the alignment of how to correctly and fully engage the core during the exercises. This practice is invaluable and intense to sculpt the lower abdomen and low back with integrity and proper alignment.

If you dread sit ups and boring toning exercises, this workout is for you. Chrissy has designed unique and challenging workouts that will give your belly, butt, and thighs a workout without the boredom. The practices are great for intermediate or advanced beginner yogis who are pressed for time. Chrissy is an encouraging teacher with a pleasant demeanor. Her instruction is innovative, clear, and helpful.

Chrissy’s interesting metaphors (“imagine you have an elephant on your pelvis” or “imagine your hips are a stamp and you have to press them into all the ink on the ink pad on your mat”) are little gems that help deepen the work in this practice. I love the image of imagining your limbs are full of sand in final relaxation, this really helped me relax at the end of a challenging practice.
