Holly Perkins
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Certified
Personal History: My love for fitness began in sixth grade when I signed up for a dance aerobics class at the local YMCA. There must have been major synergy between the music, the dance, the fun (and silly) 80’s style aerobics outfits, because I loved every minute of it. I still believe today that my career came from that very positive experience. When I left those classes I felt on top of the world. I still feel this way every time I leave the gym. Exercise makes my life better and I can’t imagine myself in any other career.
Workout Philosophy: Coming from a scientific background with a degree in Exercise Physiology, I’ve learned that there is great proof that the human body is designed for physical work. Every system and function in your body is optimized when you are physically fit. I believe that consistent, intelligent exercise is the panacea to most 21st century lifestyle diseases. The more fit I become, the better I become as a human being. More specifically, I am particularly passionate about strength training and believe it is the missing link in most people’s weight loss and health efforts. Exercise began as a positive thing in my life, and I want to make it positive for my clients. I’ll be tough on you, but I’ll do it with a smile and promise to be your biggest fan and cheerleader. Join me, let’s have fun!
Sucess Story: Samantha S, Los Angeles: Lost 45 pounds “In August I wore a size 18 and weighed 186 pounds and today I can comfortably fit into a size 8. The other day I saw someone in the grocery store that I haven't seen in a few months and they walked past me, so I said something and they were shocked and said they didn't recognize me!! My whole family is so amazed. I'm feeling super proud. I've made some huge changes in my life but one thing that is so special is that my 9 year old daughter tells me that I motivate her to be healthy and she is proud of me. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so motivating and helping me out with all the advice. You are truly inspirational.”
