Personal History: Having been involved in sports and ballet throughout my whole childhood, I pursued my love of dance by becoming a member of my collegiate dance team at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. During my four years there, I got to experience workouts with the campus Athletic Trainer who inspired me to get my personal trainer certification. After having completed the certification, I moved to New York City and started work at the Sports Club/LA in Rockefeller Center as a personal trainer and later Fitness Manager. Wanting to indulge in my love of the outdoors, I then moved to Colorado to partake in all the seasonal activities the state has to offer. I currently am a dance coach at Peak Athletics as well as a barre instructor and Assistant Director at The Ballet Physique studio. Teaching at The Ballet Physique has opened so many doors for me including the production of The Ballet Physique DVD Collection and other online workouts. The fact that I love going to work drives me and I am so lucky my job allows me to inspire others to lead a healthy and fit lifestyle. I know that working in the health industry has changed my life and my goal is to continue enhancing the lives of my clients.
Workout Philosophy: I feel exercise is important because it has a direct relationship to all other aspects of wellness including one’s mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Humans are living longer now than ever and it’s so crucial to keep our bodies healthy so we can continue doing the things we enjoy and spending time with the ones we love. Exercise can translate to each part of our life, as it makes us sharper at work and provides us more energy at home. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement and encouragement, and that is how I choose to lead my workouts. I believe individuals can push themselves harder when there is that boost of confidence knowing that someone is there to support them along the way.
Sucess Story: Trisha from Colorado used to be a consistent class member at our studio, and later found it tough to make it once having her child last August. She has been loving the DVD’s and is seeing great results! She loves that she can have the class experience at home while her daughter is napping!
