Qualifications: Arizona State University 1981 Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education, Introductory Iyengar Yoga Certification 1994, Anusara Yoga Certification 1999.
I have taught dance since the age of 16. In 1982 I ran the high school dance program at Chandler High School in Chandler, AZ. I took a break to have two children and then began teaching aerobics in 1984 in Orange County. I began learning yoga in 1987 and took my first yoga TT that year. From there I went on to earn my Iyengar certification and started my own studio in Scottsdale, AZ. In1998 I was invited to teach my first workshop in another state, that business began to grow and after 15 years of running that studio, I turned it over to a business partner and focused solely on traveling the world and teaching workshops and retreats. I enjoy this work as I am constantly challenged to grow as a teacher. As a result of this worldwide exposure, my understanding of yoga continues to deepen. I am humbled by the vastness of it all and that is what keeps me interested in studying
Workout Philosophy: I am now over 50 years old and with 26 years of dance, yoga and functional movement experience in my body, I am motivated to keep it going. I have noticed subtle changes that relate to age and hormones, and other over-use challenges and I am now investigating ways to keep myself and others going strong over the coming years. My workouts are designed around my own healing journey and my desire to stay strong and healthy. I enjoy figuring out how to help all different kinds of people with their various needs.
