Qualifications: Emily Kligerman brings years of experience and study in the field of mind-body wellness to her teaching. After completing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Emily dove deep into her yoga practice.

Personal History: Her first teachers were from the Iyengar & Ashtanga traditions. In 2004, after nearly 10 years of practice and with the encouragement of her teachers, she followed her love of yoga and began to apprentice teachers in Santa Barbara. She completed multiple teacher trainings with programs through Integrative Yoga Therapy (200 Hour Teacher Training), Santa Barbara Yoga Center (with Lisa Walford, Paul Grilley and Scott Blossom), and Yoga Therapy Training with Janice Gates of The Yoga Garden. She then traveled to Chennai, India to study with Master Yoga Teachers and Therapists in the Krishnamacharya tradition at Yoga Raksanam.She commenced this journey in Thailand to continue studying Thai Massage to deepen her understanding of the subtle body and hands on healing. She has been teaching and giving healing massage full time ever since. Emily has also completed her 500 hour teacher training with Zenyasa Yoga and the Therapeutic Yoga training.

Emily continues to deepen her understanding of the mind-body connection through her teaching practice that spans from beginning students to advanced, as well as students with physical and developmental disabilities. She has also deepened her knowledge of the body through working and studying closely with psychologists, sports medicine specialists, personal trainers, physical therapists, integrative movement practitioners, body workers, and frequently attends trainings with Master Yoga teachers and Yoga Therapists of the east and west such as A.G. Mohan and family, Mirka Kraftsow, Judith Hansen Lasater, Arturo Peal, and Cheri Clampett. She is very grateful for her relationship with her Yoga teachers and mentors in Santa Barbara: Heather Tiddens, Denise Zaverdas, Arturo Peal, Cheri Clampett and Janice Gates of San Anselmo.
Emily is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) with the Yoga Alliance. She has over 9 years of teaching experience. She is also certified in Therapeutic Yoga, is a Licensed Massage Therapist, is certified in Thai Massage and Barefoot deep tissue massage, and is a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine).
She has a thriving teaching practice in Santa Barbara. Emily co-created and leads the Yoga Program at United Cerebral Palsy/WORK Incorporated and is also featured in Real Bodywork's DVD "Yoga Therapy for Back Pain." In all her teachings, Emily's intention is to provide a fun and safe environment encouraging personal exploration of the yoga practice. It is Emily's intention to help her students create an enriching Yoga practice both on and off the mat. She currently teaches classes at Montecito Yoga and Yoga Soup, as well as private and small group Yoga classes by appointment.
