Qualifications: Master of Arts in Dance from UCLA. Has trained and performed with National Dance Companies in Cuba, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Personal History: I have been active in the world of dance and fitness my entire life. Prior to launching a professional dance career 15 years ago, I played PAC 10 volleyball for the University of Oregon where I earned Co-Rookie of the Year in 1993. Growing up, I was well known for my achievements in sports and was inducted in the City of Woodland Hall of Fame, Top 50 Female Athletes of all time. My interest in dance as fitness lies in developing a comprehensive training technique that is influenced by world cultures.

Workout Philosophy: To dance is to experience the joy of life.

Success Story: Janice, 60 years old, from Los Angeles: For months, I had seen Janice pop her head into my Saturday morning dance class and observe. I saw the excitement in her eyes watching the dance lines move across the floor to the live drumming. One day, Janice gained the courage to talk to me and ask for private lessons. She expressed that she had always wished she could dance but was afraid of the embarrassment of dancing in front of people. She felt uncoordinated and clumsy. I gave her my DVDs for her to familiarize herself with the movements at home. Through the DVDs she became enlivened by the way the movement felt in her body, owing her new self-confidence and her shapely figure to the success of the DVDs. Within a week of training with the DVDs, Janice not only lost the extra five pounds that she had been struggling to lose for years, she has reclaimed a new sense of self and accomplished a life time dream of dancing. I am thrilled that Janice has become a leader in my Saturday dance class.
