It uses optional stretch bands for strength and sculpting the upper body and Pilates-inspired mat work for flat abs, a trim waist and lean shapely legs & rear. Beginner: Just starting out, very overweight or haven't exercised in over six months.
Intermediate: Active in sports, dance or any regular exercise (2 to 3 times per week).
Advanced: Very active in sports or consistently work out four or more times per week.
Toning Emphasis: Total Body
Upper body: Arms, chest and back.
Lower Body: Legs, thighs, hips and buttocks.
Abs: Abdominals (stomach), core and sometimes lower back.

A graceful, dancers' workout that starts with all-standing ballet exercises and ends with Pilates matwork. It's a varied and balanced combination that increases core strength as it firms your entire body. The first segment features a medley of traditional ballet exercises like pliés, relevés and cursey lunges (sometimes modified to incorporate upper-body resistance band routines). Then it's down on the floor for a mix of two Pilates styles: classic Pilates and Pilates intensified with a weighted ball. Calm, detailed cuing by Bernadette Giorgi. Quiet instrumental music. Requires a resistance band; a 1 to 5 lb. weighted ball is optional. Has a 14-minute ballet and Pilates tutorial. ©2008.
