Full Backcover Description

Free your spirit, invigorate your body, and feel the joy of being alive. Shiva Rea has been teaching Yoga Trance Dance for more than 10 years. Now, for the first time, her most popular workshop is available to anyone who wants to experience celebration, rejuvenation, and creative joy through movement.

Appropriate for all ages and experience levels, Yoga Trance Dance begins with prana-initiating yogasanas, flowing into an exploration of free-form, breath-driven movement to free your creative life force and cultivate embodied freedom. It features the Yoga Matrix format, which allows you to customize your practice by choosing and organizing portions of the program to suit your needs every time you use the DVD.

Filmed at White Sands National Park, the program was shot in HD by Hollywood’s Sion Michel (Memoirs of a Geisha) and directed by yoga teacher and fashion photographer James Wvinner for an inspiring look and feel unlike any other yoga or fitness video.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Program options: (1) Yoga Matrix menu with 15 sequences to customize your workout. (2) Six different pre-set guided practices. (3) Audio options: Instruction and music or music only. (4) 12-page program guide. (5) “Y Yoga” mini documentary with Shiva Rea. (6) Comments by experts Sally Kempton and Daniel Odier. (7) Video Remix by VJ Kosho. (8) Inner-fire meditation.

DVD has programmable chapters and premixed alternate workouts.

Certified instructor description:

Beautifully filmed at White Sands National Monument, it’s a very “new age” approach to mind-body fitness. You get a fluid blend of yoga, rhythmic movements, free-form dance, meditation, conscious breathing and spirituality. Shiva also interweaves a variety of new age terminology and concepts like vinyasas, energy flows and mind/body/universe connections.

This DVD has sixteen different segments that can be played individually or done in one of six pre-set practices (each segment is 3 to 11-minutes long; each practice is 28 to 41-minutes long). Shiva’s motions are creative and beautiful to watch, but she often only provides very limited “cuing.” Soundtrack includes a variety of drum, oriental and chant-like music. DVD has a yoga documentary. Also includes a 12-page booklet. ©2006.
