Certified instructor description: Beautifully filmed at White Sands National Monument, it’s a very “new age” approach to mind-body fitness. You get a fluid blend of yoga, rhythmic movements, free-form dance, meditation, conscious breathing and spirituality. Shiva also interweaves a variety of new age terminology and concepts like vinyasas, energy flows and mind/body/universe connections.
This DVD has sixteen different segments that can be played individually or done in one of six pre-set practices (each segment is 3 to 11-minutes long; each practice is 28 to 41-minutes long). Shiva’s motions are creative and beautiful to watch, but she often only provides very limited “cuing.” Soundtrack includes a variety of drum, oriental and chant-like music. DVD has a yoga documentary. Also includes a 12-page booklet. ©2006.
