Full Backcover Description

Dance Instructor Barbi Powers focuses her brilliant instruction on the most popular movements of modern Dance and Ballet. The workout challenges you by incorporating fluid dance movements that are gracefully designed to teach the intermediate to advanced dance student. Each new dance posture is repeated multiple times until every movement is layered together on each respected side of the body. At the conclusion of the cardio portion of the workout, Barbi introduces a wonderful core fusion interval which is then followed by a peaceful yoga stretch.

Barbi Powers is a brilliant Professional Dance Instructor and graduate of NYU Tish School of Dance and presently teaches Yoga. Barbi has toured and danced with Ririe-Woodbury Dance Co. and was an Instructor at Mirror Image Dance Academy.

Certified instructor description:

A truly unique program with moves inspired by modern and contemporary dance plus ballet. It ranges from arabesques and pliés to handstands and jumping turns. The constant motion and free spirited movements make it both effective and fun. You're gracefully gliding across the room, leaping in the air, rolling on the floor — moving through every possible plane (definitely not your typical "dance aerobics" workout).

Barbi Powers' smooth transitions and add-on teaching makes it doable. She teaches a "phrase," adds on something new, then repeats both routines. By the end, you'll be performing all five phrases in a flowing, non-stop sequence. Perfectly paced classical music. Note: Requires lots of floor space! ©2011. Formerly item #6159
