Basics:
Kids will not recognize all the benefits they are getting while participating in this workout. Instead, they will just be having fun. This DVD is meant to be done with families or another adult. Kids will be stretching and dancing and feeling good while spending time with a caregiver or parent. ©2008; No equipment required

Details:
It is unique to participate in a workout that is geared toward a four year old. The workout is made up of short segments that are perfect for a little one’s attention span. Pictures of real animals and real sound effects are part of the workout as children pretend to be dogs, monkeys and bears. Children get a chance to be Karate warriors and also sneak into an imaginary trash can to “dump cookies” which gets the child into a reverse warrior posture. Yoga postures are moved in and out of without the child being any wiser. This is not about doing a workout; this is about having fun while moving. Children will also get to participate in partner stretches with an adult. The instructor, Ingrid Von Burg, encourages the child to “sniff like a bunny” to teach the child how to breath and also practice being a cooked spaghetti noodle to feel relaxation. She has a great imagination for getting the children engaged and excited about this playful workout.

Parents may benefit from this workout more than the child. Parents will enjoy watching their little ones mimic the instructor and move with enthusiasm. The workout is completely kid friendly and the production is well done enough to keep adults engaged. The instructor packs a lot of instruction into this 31-minute workout. Viewers will benefit from the short segments which each has a different focus. Make sure to have enough room since children will “crawl” across the floor like a lion, jump up and down before the music stops, and freeze in their favorite yoga pose.

Buyer’s Guide:
The outdoor settings and the real animal sounds were very entertaining. If I were the grown up doing this DVD, I would definitely get a smile on my face each time I played this DVD.
